So I ordered those X-RAY rims as an upgrade from KIA for my Koup SX, they took a few weeks because of back order, So I went and got them put on, I didnt even notice till a few days later the ones they put on arent even the kia rims, they what look to be ASA AR1's. They look pretty good, but I havent been able to get an actual price on what these would run me, the ones I ordered from KIA cost me $779.99

Anyone have any idea what they're worth

Also this is pretty shady on the dealers behalf, he couldnt even tell me that he got me different ones.

I inquired about those rims as well when I purchased. I was told they are just aftermarket rims with KIA center caps. The sales rep even told me that they would be overpriced compared to aftermarket. Most of the time these are a dealer upgrade. They can charge what ever they like. Most people who buy a car are willing to part with money at the time of purchase, and dealers take advantage of this.

This opinion is based on previous experience and is just MY thoughts.

Yeah thats lame, I love my kia like you all do but honestly I'm starting to hate dealerships more then I ever did before things like this are perfect examples of why I feel this way.

ok- i am confused.....
you are upset because dealer promised you "official kia" rims.....
and they turned out to be after markets?

while i was waiting for my SXy blk koup to get prepped for me to drive off in....
i wandered around the lot- and saw quite a few cars they had.......with after market wheels.....one or two with "KIA" center caps.........
and those wheels that had the center caps- it was obvious the center caps were just stuck on there........

i just don't see how you thought wheels like you were talking about could have possibly been "factory"........

ah ha- that clarifies the whole situation up a lot

still- nice wheels- but i feel you about getting the wrong ones.

sure sounds like dealer screwed up and is back paddling,
that and they charged you almost twice market value......
sad thing at my dealership-
all the cars w/the aftermarket rims were the LXs
i am sure glad i got my SX before they had a chance to put "their" pinstripping and wheels on it (i saw the 'dealer added features' sticker and of course got all those charges removed- esp. seeing how they werent even on the car yet- lol)

Tire Rack list those AR-1s at $US136. Gotta add shipping, taxes and duties and brokerage (I'm assuming you're in Canada so TPMS sensors are not req'd) and that adds up to about $CDN800 Sounds to me like the dealer lost about 20 bucks instead of taking their usual 30-50% 'pound-of-flesh'... Not bad at all.

Of course, if you really don't like the AR-1s, then you should be able to strong-arm the dealership into taking them back and installing the exact wheels he sold you. Say something like '... I paid for original Kia wheels and you're screwing me with these cheap aftermarket knock-offs... I'm gonna complain to (insert appropriate consumer protection agency) and Kia Canada...'

Now before you do that, you should know that ASA has been in the aftermarket rim business for a long time; while their product is not up to the standard of BBS (which costs $US675 for an almost identical BBS RGR 17x7.5. Yes, that's for one rim...) their wheels are good quality high pressure castings which is nothing to sneeze at; who knows where Kia gets their wheels from...

FWIW

Cheers,

true, i do like the ASA better, I just didnt know if I got them at the right price, you know, and the dealer never mentioned to me that he would just slap ASA on there and not the ones I specifically ordered.
