For a while now i've been thinking about this and wondered if it will be good. Finally i photoshopped a picture of it. Below is the picture.
The whole idea is to have a lights in the diffuser kinda like a "truck tailgate bar". I was horrible at photoshopping it, but i can assure you that it will look less like a Xmas tree and more stylish.


Red LED= runnning lights
Yellow LED= Left turn signal
(maybe white leds for backing up)
(maybe extra red leds for brakes)


The leds i am thinking of using are either 5mm or 3 mm.


Also in the picture:

Red out tail light (do you think this is better or just get it tinted)
Tinted taillight (red vs. Tint. if tinted, then it will be film tint, not spray)
Debadged (koup and forte)
Debadges KIA (nearly impossible, not gonna do it, but i wanted to see how good/bad it would be)
Tinted rear windshield (photoshop tint, thinking of tinting soon. (debating 35% vs 20%)

Not in the picture:

Maybe leds for brakes behind the deflectors. (special thanks to FearTheFox for the great idea), i am just worried if drilling to get to them might crack them.

I think that the debadge and the red tail lights will do nice. But personally I am not too fond of the LED on the diffuser but this is my personal taste...

On the other hand I was thinking or having DRL LED Lights on the front bumper, just above the fog lights in the inner side of the fog light housing. I don't know if I am being clear enough but I do hope you get the idea. Any chance you can photoshop that to see how it looks like?

ditto on inspireone's comment. Really like the red-out tail lights. I also like the look of the de-badged KIA emblem. I wish they hadn't indented the sheetmetal there! Not a fan of the LEDs on the diffuser either.

I'm not feeling the diffuser lights either... But please don't let us stop you if you like it, then do it

Someone on the forum has already debadged KIA on the trunk and smoothed it out... I'm gonna look through the posts and get the name in a minute, but it definitely looks good that way... I like the tinted tails better. Not sure I like the LEDs or not, I suppose it would depend on how well it was done, but it would be unique.

My only problem would be, if you red out the tail lights..how's anyone gonna know your backing up?? But what if you take like 5 or 6 LEDs, but them under that reflective part on the defuser, black em out so you can't see em when they're off, turn it into a turn signal, but you have them sequenced like the mustangs!?!?! Get what I'm saying? Like one starts, then the next then the next? I think that would look sick! God damn it, I wish I was good with electricity I would do that! Lol

I've been trying to figure it out for a couple of months, the only way possible is to build my own circuit thingy, and i am not that good with soldering, maybe if i get bored one snow storm i'll attempt to fail at it.

Soldering isn't too bad, if I knew what the heck I was doing with circuitry I would give it a shot. lol Get a bread board and get goin.

For one of my circuits classes we had to build sequential turn lights like that. Wasn't difficult at all.

PS- 20 tint would be pretty nice...on my Spectra I have 5% and I can't see CRAP. I have 20% on the back and 35% on the front of my Forte (state law requires 35% on the front, or so the tint guy said.)
