Installed my new 10,000k HID kit Saturday. With me having tinted film on the head lights I needed a little more boost for night driving. The color is amazing! They are a very sweet blue color. Here is the kit I went with- Lifetime warranty on the bulbs and ballast! Dont even have to send back the old ones!:

If I dont like the mix of colors I'll order another HID kit for the fogs. Damn... looking sweet. Man I wish I could have tint on my headlights. Cali cops would pull me over in a heart beat.

I guess I'm lucky where I'm at. The cops are pretty cool with me. I've talked to a few and asked them about pulling me over for having the tinted head lights and Euro front plate. They said they wouldn't pull me over, but to "watch out for the State H.P.- The reason they wear those hats is to cover up the circumcision scars!"
JEFFFFFFFF it looks soooo goooood! I love how they look with the tint on them! :D Lovely lovely color! Your car loooks oh so flyy man!
Looks great man. Would love to see a photo from the driver seat out the windshield at night

I'll try to post one soon. I gotta go out on a dark country road to get a real good one. Here is one in front of my garage: View attachment 2040
Looks real good. I expected the 10,000 to be a super blue. I guess your tinted headlights mute it a tad
Definitely not my cup of tea... looks out of place IMO. (plus you're losing a lot of brightness, which makes getting HIDs totally useless. i guess you don't care about that seeing how you tinted your headlights though)
maybe your driveway is at an angle but you might need to adjust either your left beam down a tad or your right up a tad. which ever you prefer hehe unles its at an angle then its fine :) but i really like it! glad everything went alright with the instal

Thanks Zach, the driveway is at a bit of an angle.

You guessed right!...I dont care:D I dont drive that much at night anyway- just wanted to go brighter because of the tint. And that is what I achieved. I know it's not for everybody but I like it.
What all did you have to do to hook them up Jeff? I'm looking into installing these but I'm definitely not a technical car guy.

It's not hard at all to do. Just plug & play. Kenny C posted a real good DIY for reference :http://www.forteforums.com/forums/do-yourself-articles/457-hid-install-w-pics.html
Where did you mount your ballasts?
Where did you mount your ballasts?
Mounted them to the frame rail just behind the head light housing.
Oh thats not too bad... Maybe I should invest in a pair...
Looks like you did not have any problem at all. I here a lot about people that have problems with there HID conversion kits and it kinda scares me a bit but you did help me.

thanks

Thanks, glad I could help you. Don't be afraid! They are very easy to install. If you have any questions just ask. Follow the link for KennyCs' really good walkthrough! http://www.forteforums.com/forums/do-yourself-articles/457-hid-install-w-pics.html
The kit I have is different but the install is very similar.
Looks REALLY sweet, Jeff, and that eBay deal looks almost too good to be true.

Think I'm looking at about 8000k for mine, but it definitely changes the look of the car.

Looking at the Road Runs grille, too... hmmm...
I dont want be to a debbie downer here but I just have to mention that 10,000k HIDs are not going to be brighter for your tinted headlights. For darker headlights, 5000-6000k might have been more ideal to brighten up the tint... because bluer doesn't mean brighter. Bluer actually means darker/less visibility, so with tinted headlights, it would have been more logical to get brighter HIDs. (Well, tinted headlights doesn't really matter here.. but if your defense is that you wanted brighter lights for tinted headlights, 10,000k would not have been the way to go.)

But I have a feeling you didn't install 10,000k for functionality, you did it for the looks lol. I wish I could tint my headlights, ugh, it would be gorgeous. But I'd be getting 10 tickets a week.
