So I was all set and ready to buy a kia forte5 SX 2015, agreed on the finance, and just waiting for my co-signer to get approved.
That is until... I checked how much insurance would cost me
I called Geico and they called me a quote of 3400 for SIX MONTHS, thats nearly 600 dollars a month, when my car payments are only 280.
How can anyone possibly drive with that kind of expense?
I'm a new driver, less than a year with my state license, but even then...
Will I have luck with other insurance companies? I have no fines or anything significant from my short driving history...
I live in NJ and a really nice neighborhood called Alpine, so i dont understand why it's so expensive. I even told them my use of the car would just be daily commutes to school.
I was naively thinking insurance wouldnt be more than 3k a year, but if I get quotes from other companies and they are all around this ballpark, I can kiss my new 2015 kia forte5 sx goodbye.
Also in that case what happens to the financing deal I made with the dealership? I signed a couple papers and paid a 300 dollar deposit while waiting for my cosigner to get approved, it's been about 5 days. The car that I wanted wasn't in their inventory so it's not like I drove it or anything, yet alone them having it. Will they easily let me out of our deal if I explain to them my situation and can i expect my deposit back?
