Can anyone tell me if I can use the usb cable that came with my Ipod Touch? I have tried it but always getting USB ERROR

I love my Ipod, but in this case I have to admit I simply got a very small 8 GB USB key that I leave plugged in all the time. The beauty of the USB key is that you can control it with the steering mounted controls same as with the Ipod cable at $40.

here is what i did... i bought one of these (2 actually but only needed 1).

DealExtreme: $5.82 Dock Extender Data/Charging Cable for All iPod/iPhone 2G/3G/3GS - Black (80CM)

I used the ipod kia connector cable and hooked it into this (the above extender cable), and then into the ipod. I used electrical tape to keep the two connections tight. I then ran the kia ipod cable into the center console directly above the plug area and ran it down the driver side. There is a very small opening which. I then ran it up and under the side of the center console and to the very back side of it. I then pushed it up through the compartment areas. I bought a black skid free mat for the ipod ($5 at best buy) and placed that over the hole. put the ipod on top of the skid free mat and the put the original piece of material back down.

now, if you open my center console compartments you don't see an ipod. you see the bottom as you normally would.. ipod is hide underneath it. Full iPod access, easy to remove when I want to update the songs, and best of all. it's always out of site.

my dealership sent me one in the mail for free. i wouldnt spend any money buying a new one until you are for sure theyre not gunna send you one. i would go as far as to ask them for one too. ive had my car for about 2 months and i got it in the mail about a month ago. works wonderfully cuz my touch's headphone port is broken and any left speaker/headphone wont work and it doesnt need to go there lol

They sent me one as well, for free. To bad I don't have an Ipod. My 5 year old, 50 dollar, 4 GB mp3 player works just as well for me. You ever think that KIA and Apple have a scheme going on so that if KIA sells the cord Apple will sell more ipods, or visa verse. You can buy a really nice mp4 player with 100 some GBs and all the bells and whistles for less than a 8GB Ipod, its extremely sickening and sad at the same time! Im a PC anyways. Apple and Steve Jobs are evil corporate masterminds in a bad way, soon enough we will have Icars that can only be fueled using Igas stations. HA!!!!

Ha! Steve and Apple are evil? Because they design products that actually work and want to keep the integrity of the overall system and user experience as flawless as possible they are evil?

There are certain products I would pay a small premium for to know it will work and not get 1,000,000 viruses or the blue screen of the death. The price difference between a mac and pc of the same specs, the price difference is almost nothing any more. Add in the cost of your virus software and the cost to have your viruses removed and you would be saving money.

And concerning the icar/igas... At least the would run and drive. You really want the blue screen of death running your car? I know I wouldn't.

Read this and then answer the above.
