Is this happening to your window?

Both of my Koups had this problem... when you shut the door, the window gets stuck on the trim above the door. If I don't notice it when I'm in the car, it usually makes a loud THUD when it pops back in place. It sounds like someone is pounding my window and it scares the *&#$ out of me every single time! When I brought my EX in, they made an adjustment to the window itself. I thought it was due to the "issue" that that car had damage on the passenger side. But my SX does the same thing! I added a couple of pics to show what I mean

This one is with the window not in it's proper place with the door shut

This one is how it looks when it is shut properly

Simple fix

Take it to the dealer, there is a TSB to adjust the window.
you are having some amazing luck aren't you
Yep, dealership fixed mine. They adjusted it too much though and now I hear wind through the window.
Doesn't happen on mine, take it back and tell them you want a new car... oh wait.. ;) hahah

ROTFL, What should I ask for this time?!
Yep happened to mine, along with a foggy passenger headlight. It was all fixed at the dealer under an hour

Yeah I have that same problem too... Ugh. and my dealership keeps changing service guys on me. :/ oh well I need to fix my ebrake cover... Its fallin off.
i had this problem too, i just left it for awhile and it went away, it never does it anymore, guess its like a new pair of skates, you just gotta break em in
Fas do you have the wind noise problem? My dealership swears that my car sounds like every other Koup and I am hearing things :/

Luckily since its been cold its gotten quieter.

Wow that was low :D. True but low. .
I had the same problem, here is what I did to fix it: I opened the passenger door, then I opened the passenger door window all the way down, then I pushed down on the door with all of my bodyweight which lowered the door a hair. I did this a couple of times and the problem is gone.

Not really a fix... but ok...

There's a TSB for an adjustment just bring it back to the dealer.

Tebore...I swear there was a TSB for this too - but I can't find it on the Kia Global Tech site anymore. I wish I had made a copy of it. I've told people about it but even the local Kia dealer can't find it now. If you run across it see if you can post it up.

Yeah i do. Its not bad right now, because it hasn't been too windy. My mechanic loves me though, if i complain about something he just fixes it with no if, and's or butts (har har), he trusts my judgement.

The thing is... its hard to replicate... You have to take it out on a windy day on the freeway, then it whistles baddd. But I know some dealerships are too lazy to do anything... they'll just turn you away b/c they don't feel like doing anything.

Stars, I hope your dealership fixes it! They should respect your judgement! (since half of them don't even know the difference between an EX and an SX)

Speaking of which...I had to get a VIN verification to register my car in CO, something apparently dealerships do.

I went to my closest KIA dealership, pulled into the service area, walked up to the service manager and told him what I needed to do. He said, "What kind of car is that?"

Ugh, so I'll be looking for another dealership in my area to deal with...
Mine was only the pass side window dealership fixed it no problems, as for the dealer ship they are great no problems at all so far have to go in next week for my next oil change, and have them look at noise in the front when taking a slow tight turn like a poping sound, let you all know later
going in tomorrow afternoon to have the windows adjusted. Tech said it would take 30 minutes per side. Hmmm, should I also mention the small amount of fog in my headlights after having them on... LOL. I wonder how much of me they can take before they kick me out the door and tell me I'm not welcome there anymore! I can't help it though... I am highly amused at the trouble I can cause after the crap they tried to pull with me :D. Even funnier is that each "problem" I present with the car is totally legit. It IS after all a new car right?
I had this issue and they adjusted the whole door! kinda pissed me off since i have pinstriping but luckily you cant notice a change
Yeh, I've just start getting the same problem on my driver side door. Even when it's not stuck on the door trim I'm getting alot of wind noise. I find if I lower the window then back up again the wind noise goes away. Guess I'm gonna have to take her in and get it looked at along with the noisy a/c compressor. Still luv the car but :)
