I took my Koup to the dyno and would like to share the results with you guys.

All is stock except for TK's CAI so the results should be super close to factory numbers. While I love TK I wouldn't necessarily believe you could be getting 10HP by just adding a CAI. I'm happy with mine and the way it sounds, but definitely could use improvement in the power department. Cheers.

Looks like you are getting 20 less than what the manufacturer claims stock (156hp).

They claim 156 at the crank, the dyno measures at the wheel. At the wheel you lose around 25 hp from drivetrain/powertrain loss. And to the OP the cold air isn't fully effective on the dyne becuase the car isn't moving.
That is possible regarding the CAI not being fully utilized. And based on my calculation, there's a 19% loss of power from crank to wheels which is a pretty normal number for these types of cars. Again, someone needs to dyno a stock Koup EX AT without CAI before we can really see the difference. Until then, this is the closest thing I can offer.

Thanks for the info.
Makes sense, the SX is like 145 at the wheels and TK says 153(ish) with CAI on.

haha. and people here think our cars are fast. i always knew my jetta was quicker than this car.
WHO? Maybe the people that have added or are going to add a turbo. This Forte-5 is the SLOWEST car I have owned to date, but like the guy above said "who cares?" I know I didn't buy this car for speed. I have that covered with my other vehicles. This car is a MPG getter for me.

OH...and Jettas are slow ass rattle boxes IMO

yeah, i didnt buy my car for speed either. but people on here get butthurt when you dont think our cars are fast. there have been plenty of threads with dudes talking about street racing and stuff lol and thinking our cars are super quick and sleepers LOL. yes i agree the a turbo forte would be fast though.

and yes they might be slow ass rattle boxes but it was faster than my koup haha. plus volkswagens are awesome in general.

Sad? I'm happy as fuk. :D I have a car that's super clean lookin' and a car that I enjoy. You sir have a car that you don't enjoy, a car that you can't get rid of and for some reason continue to post on that said car's forum.

The only thing you must enjoy is misery. You sir are the one that is sad. :(
i never said i was sad or that i didnt like my car. i like my car a lot, it is clean, although i do wish there was more aftermarket parts available. in no way am i miserable haha. i do in fact am not in denial that my car is not fast, which really seems to push people buttons on here when i say something about it whenever it is brought up. it seems like people get butthurt about it or something.

and i do continue to post on this forum because i enjoy this forum. im sorry that you dont like that i think our cars are not fast and that i stated that i knew my jetta was quicker(yes it was also slow, but quicker)
