When stacking shims like I have done (two shims stacked on each side) it ends up being -3 degrees camber and spaces the wheel out about 5mm.

It does get frustrating to a point. If you are where I am and need more camber to tuck tire in the back it's kind of a double edged sword. The more shims you throw at it, the more camber you can get, but it also spaces the wheel out more (albeit slightly) each time. Just something to consider.

does the -3 tilt the wheel in more than the 5mm space of the does the 5mm make the wheel stick out more?

I have the same setup on my car. From what I noticed, the -1.5 degree of camber the shim provided helped clear the fender more than what the spacing of it took away.

For example, if the negative camber of the shim gives you 2 more units of clearance, the spacing of the shim seems to only take away from that clearance by a unit of 1... maybe .75, maybe 1.25.

Another example (my current situation since I rub tire a bit over bumps), since I'm really close to the fender now, would another shim help my tire clear more even though it would space it out even more? I believe it would from what I've noticed with the others.

The weather has been nice here so we spent some time in the lab yesterday. Hiernonymus made some more progress on his badgeless honeycomb grill and I lowered my front end some more. I also dialed in my front camber, adjusted the front fenders a bit, and painted the chrome on my badge because I still can't decide what I want to do with my grill and was tired of the badge standing out.

A day of working on cars always calls for some pictures:

Got some recognition on another site, Farm of Minds. This time not for my Koup but for one of my photoshops. I posted it on my blog and then it just blew up. I've been finding my picture all over the place now.

The funny thing is this is by no means my best work, just something I whipped up real quick as a concept of old-school JDM styling on a German platform.

What bag setup did you end up going with? I'm playing with the idea myself. It kills me not being able to go lower because of my driveway curb. I look at the fender gap every day and think "it's still too much..."

why not do what other people do and make a little setup to help you get in and out of the driveway so you can go lower?

Cars ugly! Why would you do that? You made it look stupid. I don't like it. Cool license plate bracket tho....to bad subura called, they want it back!
