So here's a new one for the Forte Hatchback owners ... How do you change the light bulbs for the license plate ?? I have seen a thread for the coupe, but not for the Hatchback ... Any ideas ?? And yes, I looked in the Kia website where they have all the manuals and such and no luck ...

i never seen the hatch up close near the plates but they should be the same as the koup and sedan. just get a knife or something and pry the cover open, but be very careful not to break them.. since i broke my driver's side cover. now there is tape holding it. lol.. i got a pair of smd led lights of off ebay for $8.

I tried to put a small screw driver and get it to open up, and I heard the tape coming off ... But it wasn't coming off ... So I had to stop. I will try again monday morning. I did get the LED lights, that is what I was trying to do lol ...

i replaced mines with no problems.

you need a small skinny screwdriver.

insert the screwdriver from the outside edge of the plastic housing.(left edge for the left light, right edge for the right light)

she should come open no problem.

Best bet might be to try a sign shop to make you a custom vinyl on plexiglass plate with mounting holes...
