Disconnect the battery, check all your rear brake light socket metal contacts.

Kia/Hyundai are notorious for the metal contacts bending away from the light bulb contacts.

Our JGC did the same thing. Getting pulled over for brake & tail light out. It was the fncking glass bulbs. Changed all to Zevo L.E.Ds. problems stopped.

Changed all the incandescent glass bulbs in the Scion too. Got pulled over for faulty brake light. Changed them to Zevo L.E.Ds, problems stopped.

In my old 07 GMC Envoy, same sh!t. Glass bulbs fncking sh!t up. Changed them to Zevo L.E.Ds. problems stopped.

Get rid of the glass incandescent bulbs & replace with L.E.Ds.

The extreme heat produced by the glass bulbs weakens the connections causing the socket to warp enough that the metal contacts shift, move & or bend away.

Go to your local junk/salvage yard & pic any vehicle & look at their light bulb sockets. You'll see the browning & brittleness. That's from the extreme heat produced by incandescent bulbs.

This browning, burning, weakening, warping & eventually leads to socket deterioration/breaking is from glass incandescent bulbs extreme heat.

Get rid of them & replace all of them with L.E.Ds

Disconnect the battery & with a paper clip, metal pick, jewelers screw driver, Bobby pin use as a puller/positioning tool.

I kept getting pulled over in my 1st gen that I got fncking fed up & changed all the glass bulbs to L.E.Ds.

The only one still glass/incandescent are the low, high & fogs.

I have replaced at least 6 headlight bulbs in my 2017 Forte LX. Low beams. Now I need a whole assembly because I screwed mine up and can't afford any of the ones I've found on the internet. It sucks to be poor. None of the local pick and pull yards have a 2017 or 2018 Forte. Crap.

No, not yet. I just found out that my oldest sister died this morning from brain cancer. We've been estranged for about 10 years, but it still hits home. She'd apparently had lung cancer and with chemo, that went away. Apparently it spread to her brain. My brother in law put her in hospice yesterday afternoon and she died around 4:00 am. I won't fool with the car for a few days. Thanks for asking though and FYI, I don't do social media of any kind, so no Fakebook and I won't join just for that. Too many scammers, just like craigslist.

Knock on wood. Haven't had to replace any rear taillight bulbs yet. Only issue I have with the rear taillights is water in them. As for my front lights, I've had to replace them multiple times ( about twice a year ). Switching to LED from LASERFIT once I have the funds.
