Ok I was riding up a hill on the highway and my forte barely made it up the hill. The speed went down and the RPM would hit 6000 and not shift gears. I had to turn my hazards on and the speed dropped to 35 on a highway. Also, while going up the hill it seemed to start shaking. Then, I get up the hill and nothing changed with speed or RPM. All of a sudden my engine turns itself off and I didnt even notice. I was stuck in the roadway and car would not restart or run.
Anybody have these issues or what might be causing it???

Automatic I'm assuming? My knowledge with autos is very limited, but check the trans fluid. Any check engine light come on? Maybe the lock up torque converter is on the fritz.

Sounds like there's slippage either way.

No did not restart. The transmission is sealed and not accessible. Only light on is airbag

Definitely the transmission is sealed. Have you checked the fluid? There's a dipstick.

Does it turn over when you try to start it, or is there no rotation of the engine?

Although the cat MIGHT be a problem, it most definitely is not the reason your vehicle does not start.

My old car suffered similar problems, right down to the shaking. At first they thought it was carbon build up but even after cleaned it continued to have problems (worse was stalling at the lights). In the end it turned out to be the fuel pump on its way out.
