Koup with 1000 miles, I searched but never found my exact issue so perhaps someone can give me a clue.

5-6 times in the last two weeks after about 1 hour of driving I have had the ((!)) low pressure symbol flash for about 1 min, then go solid and go out or go out upon restarting the car. I have checked the pressure cold and it was 32 psi on the dot. Thinking it was getting too high (don't know the upper limit) I dropped the pressure to 30 cold but still had the issue recur.

Last night the light flashed and went solid a mile from home so when I pulled in, I checked the pressure hot and all were 32-33 psi so it's not an overinflation issue AFAIK.

I have read it can be caused by RF interferance but really it's wierd that it's happening after about 45-50 mins of my commute, not in a specific spot.

I reinflated to 32 psi cold today since I don't think it's pressure related.

Anyone have a good clue? The TPMS light has never come on.

I don't have the manual with me at the moment since I'm at work, but I think I recall reading in the manual there are certain circumstances as to when you could disregard the warnings. Check the manual under the sensors it should give you at least an idea of what they expected from the sensors. Can't offer any advice on why that is though.

I had the same thing happen in conjunction with a transmission problem last week. It went out on its own and air pressure was fine. It might be a connection problem on the computer. Might want to have the dealer check it out. Read my thread "trouble codes - weird!" where I went into some detail about this problem. I think this problem may be in some way related.

I read your thread when I was searching the forums. I'll prob take it in to have it checked out.

...and I'll read the frippin' manual in the meantime. :)

I don't know much about the system but I wonder if re-syncing the system might be the cure. Dealer would need to do this.

I know this needs to be done when new tires are purchased. So it can be done. I'm thinking the computer is loosing contact every so ofter for whatever reason.

My light has gone on a couple times, more so when I first got the car, and haven't seen it in a couple months. As long as it's not within the guidelines in the manual, it shouldn't be a problem. :]

Wasn't there some weird issue with the TPMS and the gas cap being loose causing the warning light to come on? I don't have the SX so haven't run into any TPMS issues.

Well according to the '11 manual, the blinking of the ((!)) symbol for a minute followed by illuminating steady is a system problem. I never get the [TPMS] warning light though. I'll see if it lights up when I go to start the car.

I drive far and fast and want to be able to trust the indicator if a tire goes flat. I've driven on flat rears unnoticed on a FWD car before.

There is no [TPMS] idiot light on the SX Koup that I could find, just the ((!)) symbol, so I must deduce that the blinking is indeed a system problem. It did not happen on my 50 mile commute in this afternoon. <shrugs>

The various warning lights will illuminate upon first starting the vehicle. This is to let you know that they are all in operating condition.

I agree that that blinking symbol is a system problem. I'm going to make a stab in the dark and harken back to the problem I had last week. I think it is a wiring problem with oxidation or something that provides low voltage to the sensors or something like that.

My service ticket says in part "C1312 sensor 1 radio frequency test drove found trans working cleared codes OK now."

I got a call from KIA today and from the short conversation I had leads me to believe they are not on top of this problem. I found an identical problem relating to the transmission over on a Hyundai forum such as I have outlined. I think these problems are all tied together somehow.

I would advise just staying in contact with your service department until the problem is permanently resolved. One of these days they will awaken from their slumber and take these issues seriously.

does it blink and after a while just stay on?

if yes then one of ur sensors is either broken or just not responding. u can take it to the dealer and get it checked out

Been fine for a week, light came on today but in the sunshine I never saw it blink. Thought it was crying "Wolf!" again after I stopped for gas.

Went out after dinner and the RR tire was almost flat. lol. I guess it wasn't lying tonight.

I didn't read the whole thing and I'm not Sure if someone said it already but check the spare tire. Not sure if it has a sensor or not though

I did that last weekend, it was fine at 60 psi but I bumped it up to 65 as I'll prob forget to check it for a year. I keep a duffel bag in the trunk with a compressor, tire plugs & emerg stuff in case.

Pain that it's stored with the valve stem down.
