If i rem correctly, it is limited to 2gb.
And it has to be formatted Fat 12/16/32.

it is in the manual.
i have over 2 gb on mine and they all play but they are on a zip drive not a mp3 player
I'm using an 8 GB flash drive as my source [don't even bother with CD's anymore] I'm not sure how many songs are on the drive, but I've never encountered any problems so far.

X2, same here. I have about 2000+ songs.
I have a 250 GB hard drive that I use in my truck on my Alpine head unit... Works great there... When I connect it to my Forte, seems that the Hard Drive is not getting enough "juice" from the usb... Im going to have to run a different power source to see if this solves the problem I am having...
Maybe its the partition... you need to format it in FAT32 or 16 otherwise it wont work!!!
Doesn't seem like the desk is powerful enough to push an external HD, not even a passport size one.

USBs only for now.
