Metal clunk when braking/accelerating

Hello. So this is my very first time visiting this forum, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place to be asking this. But I've been having a metal clunk sound coming from what seems to be the brakes/pads. I went to kia dealership (I was due for brake pad replacement, which is why I assume this issue to be brake related) today and told them about it, and they did full front and rear brake replacement. But yet the sound still continues. It sounds like metal shifting inside the wheel and clunks when braking and accelerating. I haven't been able to find anything else it could be other than something suspension related?? I'm very unsure. Any help is appreciated.

It could be a variety of things, but the first thing that comes to mind is a "sticking" caliper. The "metal clunk" you hear would be the delay in the caliper releasing when you let off of the brakes. I have personally experienced this before.

If not, it could very well be a transmission/motor mount or other steering/suspension component.

Hard to diagnose without hearing the sound.

A metal clunk when braking could also be a bad/loose engine or tranny mount.

Is there any unusual sound when you turn the car at slow speed?

This reminded me of a video I recall seeing a while back, and of course I can’t find it..
But the lady in the video stated the same thing and the mechanic ended up finding that the back side of the tire pressure monitor had broken off and was tumbling around inside the wheel.. and was somehow still reading correctly.. 🤔

Now listen, mama always told me not to believe everything I see on the tv, but I figure it’s worth a shot knowing for a last ditch effort if it doesn’t go away...

most of these engine and trans set up have a torque mount on the bottom from the drive train to the sube frame. i would check there and also tighten up every last suspension bolt, from the lower control arm, caliper bracket bolts, strut bolts, sway bar linkage and even the strut mount bushing bolts.

Tightening bolts won’t do anything if the bushings are shot which is much more likely to be the source of the noise
