So...

I'm about to buy the TK CAI but I'm wanting to do some color under the hood. Will you guys post some pics of some of the ways you painted under your hoods.

My car is death black and I'm considering buying the black edition intake from TK but I'm not sure about color.

what sort of color options on the exterior are you running?
(after all- the interior is black,grey,red stock- and from what i've seen-you have stayed that way)
so - if your exterior is still going the black/red motif-
then black and red it is- lol

there are a few in here with red and black engine paint schemes (ie- fas93 comes to mind off top of the head)
just flip the colors around for a closer match to the black to red scheme....

(i am sure there are one or two master paintshop pros that could take fas93's engine pics and match them to what i was saying )

Well, my HID and all the 6,000k leds I have on the exterior kind of have their own thing going. My interior has the red on black for sure, but im thinking ill just keep it in the cabin. Im thinking ill do ultra white on black for the outside stuff which is looking pretty good.

I started looking through the gallery but i figured it would be easier asking to have folks put their stuff on display here. Who wouldn't want to show off their stuff. I just want to see the different types of components under the hood that have been painted, and get some ideas to create my own.

im ganna be powdercoating my tk cai anodized red. its a darker then the actual anodizing will do and it looks awesome but anodizing makes it a lil stronger

What paint and prep would be recommended for this? I am considering something similar for mine.

For all the things I painted, I primed it with heat resistant primer and then I painted with heat resistant red paint and then clear coated it idk if you have to use primer it but I did

Heat resistant primer and paint sounds good to me. An paint brands recommended?

Duplicolor engine enamel works good, check my pictures on my profile

do a layer of your choice color of engine enamel and then do a layer of clear enamel.

Justin...why did you leave the factory air intake parts installed if you are using an aftermarket intake? like the bottom half of the air box and the piece on top of the radiator?

just got home from shooting some pics with a liverecklessly. too bad it got dark too fast. damn time change!

the piece over the radiator was just cause. and the air box was cause i have yet to build an ecu bracket. which is one of my next projects.
