My Impressions On The Forte

Bought it June 16 2010, kind of on a impulse driven by the fact that i knew the focus was dying.

Nice dealer, not as pushy as the ford dealer was when i was looking last time, they had promo pricing on 2010 focus coupes at the time, not any more tho. only one dealer installed extra, Lug Locks and that was itemised fairly decently and was not over priced. had 60 miles on the clock, so it has probably been on the lot for a few months and have been looked over because nobody probably wanted to deal with the touchy clutch/gas pedals.

First impression:
It looks a lot more expensive than it lets on, black exterior with a black cloth interior with red highlights shows off the quality of the vehicle, which i was not expecting to be. only a few minor complains, mostly from the choice of the rather old fashoned goose neck type trunk lid arms instead of a hydraulic based one that has a double hinge in the side, and the choice of rather crappy (based on what i ahve heard from other people) good year tires.

Overall the car is a lot quieter than the focus, then again most cars in its class are quieter due to the fact that it lacks a decnt bit of sound deadening, not even the trunk lid got it in 2006. the clutch took a few hours of driving and parking lot practice. If you are reading this to get a view of how the car is and wondering what i think of the Clutch/Gas pedal issue. It is not as bad as it sounds, if you are somewhat decent with a manual transmission you should be able to handle it decently with a little practice.

Hey Steve. Welcome to the site and congrats on the new sx. Agree 100% the car looks far more expensive than what it costs. At least once a day I get cars driving by turning heads or trying to figure out what it is and they are typically in lexus' or hondas that are rubbernecking.

What are your plans for the car? Upload some photos and show that sx off!!

Welcome to the black on black sx club! Lol
I plan to keep it stock, at most get the Kia acessories catalog type gear shift, which is not available yet. Also mine was born September 2009, does that mean anything? like were there mid-year updates?

I think late 09 cars were b;essed with the soft touch and plastic combo dash instead of all hard plastic
cant remember if there anything else but the soft touch is great looking=]
mine has the soft touch/plastic combo, love it.
Mine is Soft/hard combo too. Yay.

Also,by popular request I uploaded photos to my gallery. You can view them here too.

There is a gas petal mod thats works wonders and no more lag between 1st and 2nd
I intend to do that later today when the DIY shop on base opens up. 2.50 for a hour of a stall with all the tools you will ever need, or 3.50 for a lift bay Plus tools.
Gas pedal mod did make a big difference, thanks for the advice on doing it.
