Need of an idiot proof guide..

Well , I have a 800 watt amp , and a shallow base 12 that i want to place in my Koup.... But im completely misreading these threads , or im just stupid... I have to ask.. What's the simplest way of going about this using the stock stereo? I read about some converter? I just want a little more bass quality... Im used to older cars and just pulling the entire damn system out.
