After two weeks of constant research, test drives, price estimation & trade in values. I finally bought the Kia Forte SX Koup in black, took delivery today, and drove it all the way around GTA on the 401. To be honest, I simple love it :). The stares I got were pleasing enough, but in the end two guys in a 08 Acura TL even followed me to my driveway, to ask what car it is.. lol. And the looks on their faces when they saw that its a Kia and the price, was very satisfying.

2.5 years ago, I bought a brand new 2008 Pontiac G5 GT (top of the line with 260W Pioneer sound system + sub, sunroof, blah blah blah). And just under a year ago, GM went bust. Even though I expected that I would be making a loss on this car, but never I thought that market values for the G5 would drop this much. I bought it for 25 K at the time, 5 Depo and the rest was financed. By the time I was thinking of trading it in, G5 GT market value is now $5000, and still I had to make $10,000 to pay off GM.

I went from Lexus IS250 AWD to Nissan Sentra SER to Mazda 6 GS to Honda Accord Sedan to Hyundai Genesis Coupe to VW Jetta Sportline to finally the Kia Forte Koup SX. None of the dealerships would offer more than $4000 for the G5, which made my life hell because I could not afford to buy a reasonable new car and at the same time pay off the remaining value for GM.

Kia at 401 & Dixie, gave me a deal I could not refuse. First they offered $5000, then immediately (after a call to GM @ Yonge) when they had a walk around the car they offered $8,900 + ($500 for kia accessories). I took it. And now I can't be happier :). Got my car and the 10% discount cards on labor and parts, and drove off!

Its only been 60 Kms, but so far am totally satisfied. A big change from Kia, and totally unexpected! A lot of value for your money.

I want to make it on sunday, and I wish I could, but I'm leaving for montreal on sunday morning, wont be back till tuesday! The Koup will be accompanying me on my 600 km journey lol. I'll be sure to check out GTAFK. Also hows the forte scene in T.O? Big? lots of modified fortes'? (Mine's like bone stock lol)

Welcome to kia nation nice car!!!
Welcome and congrats! Black is the best color =)
Thanks everyone! Well tbh, I wanted a white, but I searched like 4 dealerships around Toronto, and couldn't find a white SX. So black is the next best thing!

So far in the GTAFK there are already close to 50 cars in the klub. Most we have had together that I know of at one time, is 14 (koups & sedans). Some are more modified than others but every car is different than the next in some way. Hope you can make it out one day to see for yourself.

Not sure how many black. I am actually not sure of how many of each colour, maybe I should post a poll to find out. Yeah the almost 50 is a nice number, not bad for really 4 months of promoting the klub.

congrats Main_m.. Kia Dixie is definitely one of the best dealerships in the area..

My wife has been helping with the car modding.. Especially when she put a case of water on it, and dented it!

This is a lesson to you all.. You can let the wife drive the car.. But always carry out the groceries..

You TOTALLY traded up, dude! Welcome!!

When I was cross-shopping a Honda, the salesman tried to play the "sucky resale" card when I said I was looking at the Koup... Time will tell, but I suspect Kia's overall resale in 5 years will be considerably better than it is now.

So, right after I took it out of the dealership it had started to rain, which ruined the detailing job done on it. So After 1.5 days of owning it, I just got enough time to detail it out.

I must say. BLACK IS HARD TO MAINTAIN LOL. Specially this car, for some reason all the dirt and even the dirt attracting cloth I used to clean it with still left some strands. Yikes!..My Apologies for a not so perfect detail and phone camera quality pics.

And I found this under the hood.

Its always on, Im worrying if it will drain the battery. :(
