Picking up my Forte that I am trading in my Monte Carlo for today and just wondered about mods both mechanical and exterior. I have found a couple different ones like a CAI but just wondered what others have done to theirs.

It is a 2006. It was a boat and I was really getting sick of it and wanted something smaller and a 5 speed and I like the potential in these little things.

Just brough it home and had a good 40-mile ride in it. Must say I like everything about it so far! Now to get the cash to start modding! Plus it's cold out now so that kinda sucks.

There's not much out there in terms of "mods" for the Forte...

There's the usual intake and exhaust, a few suspension parts here and there, and that's it. That's probably why 90% of the threads on this forum are about LEDs...

Basically, a good CAI/Cat-back combo, with a slight drop and subtle mods here there would be a great start.

Truthfully, the Fortes aren't a far throw from the Monte Carlo. Montes are built on the same chassis and drivetrain as the Grand AMs & Aleros of the same model years. I've owned all three, 01 Monte Carlo SS, 01 Grand AM GT, and a Forte SX. The GM drivetrains provide the same HP as the Forte. The Monte Carlos just weigh the most of the three, which, in my opinion, is more comfortable in winter road conditions. The Grand AM dimensions are damn near identical to the Forte. This is actually why the Forte was appealing to me, I like this body style of vehicle, and I'm getting the same performance on 2 less cylinders = better fuel efficiency. Considering the Forte was engineered in California, I would suspect a lot of the laid off GM engineers were picked up by Kia and worked on this model.
