I already orderd mine so as soon as they come in ill post pics and let you know the quality... they look plastic to me actually. The only thing I think you would have to worry about is using too harsh a wheel cleaner and damage the coating on them.

The factory ones on my car right now feel like plastic also.

They are since the instructions to put on the new ones states to use a screw to rip out the factory ones!! Why not just take off tires and pop it off?? Crazy people.

Awesome! I'll be ordering them shortly. Sadly, I probably won't have them by the day of the meetup.

I believe all the factory wheel centers are plastic.

You might want to try giving then a spray of clear coat before installing them, maybe even stop by you're local body shop and ask if they can give them a spray next time they are clear coating a car?

I have a roll of 3M clear vinyl, the same kind used for bumper/rock guard. I wonder if something like that could be used to protect the caps?

Looks like most Koups are gonna be sporting these babys now!
I've got my set on order! I didn't order the K badge center caps because the didn't exactly match the other badges...had some weird extra line on the K.

Gonna paint my calipers while the wheels are off this time.

Those would be the European emblems I believe. I've never actually seen one, but one of the service technicians at my dealer mentioned it last time I stopped by.

I'm curious to see what they look like. Do you have a link or do you remember where/how you found them?

Kia Rondo Cerato Optima Wheel Hub Cap Emblem Black 59mm : eBay Motors (item 170376357853 end time Apr-23-10 20:25:37 PDT)

You have to buy 4 of them as they are only sold as single units...for whatever reason.

Oh! I have seen those before! I didn't like them much either. I'm not a fan of the thick silver border/ring on the outside and depending on the position of the wheel, they may look even more like a Lexus knock-off emblem.

OH I am SUPER jealous... Mine should be here any day now!!! I might have to play sick and stay home to put them in. Did you take the wheels off or use their "screw" technique

I took the wheels off. I like to keep all the original pieces intact in case I have a change of heart/mind and want them back on. Also, when I sell the car (in another decade or so lol), I'll probably put all of the Kia stuff back on.

Whats the quality like? vs OEM?
They're both plastic. The OEM's seem to have a coating over them, possibly from the rustproofing package that the entire car got from Kia. I'll probably put a light clear coat on them to protect them from the wear and tear of driving. The clips on the OEM ones are small and don't look as strong as the clips on the Koup ones, so I think they should at least hold on better.

hmm I was wondering about that... I got this product that is like a liquid clear plastic.(once it cures it looks like a thin layer of glass and hard as hell) I am playing around with it testing a few things for my custom badge project. Wonder if it would hurt to put a light coat of that on it.
