Im looking to up-grade all of my door speakers. I do have a limited budget however. I would like to keep my costs under 150bucks--- Should I just wait until I can get some more cash? Or are there decent 6.5's that would sound ok for this price? I do have a 50x4 amp that I will adventually hook up with these, but that is a ways down the road. So these will just run off my head unit until for about 2 months.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Go to your local car audio store, and listen to what they have in the board, try and compare. No one can tell you what YOUR ears like, and every single brand of speakers is has a different sound. I can tell you to buy JL or Alpine, or Fosgate, or whatever, but you may hate the ways the JL's sound, or think that Jensens sound great. Audio is all personal taste!

Also bring your own music, the stuff you like to listen to in your car. Take the time to listen through a whole song, maybe trying different speakers.

Thanks again D-

I know your thoughts on sound deadining.....Do you think I could get away with not doing my doors? Im only planning on putting 50 watts thru each speaker....

Did you by chance get to listen to your doors without the sound dampining material? Is there any crazy rattles that emerge when you put some powered 6's in the doors?

thanks again!

Only if you know them well. to be honest.. you'll be in their way unless you work on the doors they aren't working on.

It's easy to take off the doors later and do it yourself though.. assuming you have a place to do it.
