Dropped of my car this morning for scheduled maintenance, and a minor oil leak from what the tech's thought was the ac compressor. Should've been a 3 hour fix. Called them back after 3 hours and .... my leak is apparently way worse, and that they're already tearing the engine apart to fix it. and they said it will probably take a couple of days to get it sealed and put back together. I am definitely starting to regret getting a KIA. so far the list of things that went wrong.

1. Moisture in left headlight (more than fogging)
2. Bald tires after 4000 miles
3. Oil leak
4. out of alignment
5. dead battery/ loose negative post

Definitely wouldn't want to hear that they're tearing apart my engine to find a leak... They are probably causing a whole host of future problems with everything they take apart!

yea maybe your issues come from all that snow fun the other day... pulling e-brakes and all rev your engine to much. it does makes sense ? oil leak, bald tires, need a alignment turning to quick and doing doughnuts does not help lol. moisture in your headlight well didn't you tamper with the light once you install that hid kit? or am i wrong ? http://www.forteforums.com/forums/forte-koup-pictures-videos/4193-playing-snow-d.html

Nuhhh, all the oil problems were pre established 2 months ago, about 20 days after i bought the car :(. and the tires were a month ago. and the headlight was the morning after i drove it off the lot. so none of the problems had anything to do with snow playing don't worry. As for the alignment, the guys suggested i start paying attention to it after i got my tires changed.

and btw, couple of members had oil leaks too. :(

UPDATE 1:
called the dealership, heard the technician in the background say that the oil was from the bottom of the engine, probably the pan, and it should take couple of days, and to call tomorrow to check.

I've never burnt rubber, the only time that i came close was drifting in snow, but there was enough snow to skid and not catch traction (and that was with my winter tires)

check my thread on Bald tires so soon

so you drove around for 2 months with an oil leak on a brand new car???? anyone else see something majorly wrong here??? lol
That's what i thought in the beginning, but then i triple checked with my dealer and they said the leak wasn't bad, then i took it to 2 independent shops, they said it's not a bad leak, probably like a droplet or 2 per day. every time my dealership and an opening in service, i couldn't make it because of a test or some school stuff.

But yeah, i was pretty pissed at the dealer when i found out about the leak, but they've been more than nice, up until now. I'm hoping they stay nice.

Update 2: today's the third day that i don't have a car, i called the dealer last night, and he told me it will be ready for today, i told him, i am coming today and i am driving away in a car, whether its mine or a loaner. So i called them today at 4ish, and they told me to come pick up my loaner, they're hoping to finish it by tommorow.

Anyways, i just got back, and they gave me a 2010 Kia Sorrento with 100 miles on it :D. They can keep my car for a week if they want to.

I went down to the work-shop to get stuff out of my koup, and it was on the lift, with alot, ALOT, of parts on the ground. it was dripping radiator fluid, and all the engine bay components were still around the car. We're expecting a storm this weekend, so i don't mind if i keep the Sorrento longer. AWD :D

Things i like about the sorrento comapred to Koup:

AWD
Soft suspension

Things i miss about the koup:

HIDs
Stick-shift
remote start
Acceleration.
