I am a uber noob on this forum and about cars in general but I was wondering what modifications, if any, could done to these cars that will not void out the warranty by KIA? Thanks in advance.

Well, yes... this is quite obvious I suppose. But if you put on a CAI and then your engine dies you are up shits creek. Your warranty is voided. This is basically what I'm asking.to my understanding the only way it will void your warranty is if the aftermarket part installed is the cause of the failure of what you would want wannantied
ex, if you put a CAI on and all of a sudden the trunk wont latch shut, you are fine
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.Well, yes... this is quite obvious I suppose. But if you put on a CAI and then your engine dies you are up shits creek. Your warranty is voided. This is basically what I'm asking.
I guess I'm already answering my question because if you modify the engine or exhaust in any fashion the warranty becomes void. One of the main reasons I purchased this car was because of the warranty, which seems to be quite nice. I'd hate to do something to my car only to realize it voids it out.
I see. Maybe it's just not worth doing.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
If you install a CAI. And your engine explodes, its not the CAI fault.
If you drive in a huge puddle without a bypass valve and suck up water and hydro-lock the motor.. well thats your dumbass.
Like dude said, your mod has to be the DIRECT cause of the malfunction. (in a court of law)
Your safe with intake, exhaust, and little stuff. Add boost or n20 and its different.
Depends on your dealer. Mine doesnt void my stuff, but i have seen a dealer void a warranty because his tires were bald. A Short ram intake might be worth the couple dollars. Find and exhaust thats not a fart can that u like. You can also install headers, and port stock stuff like crazy....I see. Maybe it's just not worth doing.
He means bolt on...A CAI and exhaust are considered "bold on" modifications and generally won't affect your warranty. The best way to be sure about what mods will not void your warranty is to talk to your parts &/or service manager.
Yeah, that seems logical. Wish I'd have thought of thatA CAI and exhaust are considered "bold on" modifications and generally won't affect your warranty. The best way to be sure about what mods will not void your warranty is to talk to your parts &/or service manager.
