Not everyone's flavor- new chrome rims

I know it is not fashionable today to have chrome rims-- everyone is obsessed with black rims, but that has never been my style. I know some people have wondered what chrome rims look like on the Koup- well, I bought some and I really like it. Also, I picked chrome rims over hyper-silver because of the paint job I will get in a couple months- first step in my little project :)

They are 17X8 with +38 offset. I have no problem with rubbing and the roads around here can be pretty bumpy sometimes.

I'm not usually a chrome kinda guy on a sporty car, but DAMN! those are nice dude! Good choice!
And I see you did the dual exhaust! I think that helps make the chrome sit a little better with the car. Way to go man.

I agree... But i also think chrome looks best on red cars
Yeah. It would be kinda hard to pull that off on the corsa blue or my copperhead orange.
Not my cup of tea, but i've always been a big fan of your car. I agree the chrome does go with the duel exhaust! Keep it uppp man!
I think the chrome works well with your headlights and the fact that the design of the wheel is simple helps too. I think they look good. And nice spoiler!
It's nice and clean, I can respect that. Since you have chrome wheels now maybe you should get chrome door handle covers instead of the black you have now or you can just take it off and go with the body color.

subtle is right. i think the black handles throw it off a little.
I never understood people changing their wheels, pay 1 k and get the same size wheels, I said to myself,if I change wheels I will get bigger at least.
Thanks for not slamming me too bad for my preference-- we all have our own tastes, and I can respect that.

@Subtle: The doorhandles will change soon when I get it repainted.

@stockey: I was going to do 18's, but my student who owns a Koup did and told me not to do-- he said it rides like crap. As far as spending 1k on rims that are the same size, I can't understand someone spending 1k on black rims that match the tire and you can't see any details of the rim. So let's be honest, we all change our rims for one reason- looks- then why have a rim that can hardly be seen regardless of size?

people do it for plenty of reasons. mainly because they like the look better of the aftermarket wheels. it may be the same height wheel but not always the same width and offset so then they could fit better and look more flush. also some people so it to save weight, typically stock wheels are very heavy and if someone has intention to track a car every pound counts.

Hahahahha- I stand corrected- people not only change their rims for looks :) I must say, I was so worried the +38 offset was going to stick out too far and it would rub because I'm lowered, but no rubbing and it's more flush which looks great.

But I do admit, I do look at my car and think that 18's would have been better-- but I don't want to suffer ride quality. Some of the roads here are pretty bumpy, so I want to maintain some sense of ride quality.
looks great imo. especially with the dual exhaust. nice work on picking the wheels!
I have 18s and the ride is the same as the 17.
Looks great! Always been a fan of the 5-spoke wheels. The chrome looks great with the red. Any plans to paint the calipers or are you going to wait until you get the new paint job?
Not really a chrome fan, but I have to say they look nice! Very clean look! Sure as hell better than my hub caps! LOL :)
everyone is obsessed with black rims,
This isn't 2006

Don't look bad, more suprised that they look better then what I was expecting.

Clean 240! Can't beat a KA24DET!

I'm not going to paint the calipers-- if it wasn't going to be painted then I would probably paint them red.

If black rim obsession was worse in 2006, then I wouldn't want to see it. It seems like everyone here has black rims or is thinking of getting black rims. Not saying anything is wrong with it, but that seems the style right now.

I do need to do something with the door handles like someone suggested-- can't wait to get it all done^^
I think it depends on the vehicle. A lot of people think black wheels look good on the Koup and I see a little more chrome or lighter colored wheels on the sedan. If you go to a Chrysler 300 forum all you will see is a bunch of chromed out 20's and 22's.
