I havent done it on my car before but I know how it works. Ive changed oil pumps on a diesel forklift though at work so it should be close if not the same.

Lift the front of the car, place an empty container under oil pan and remove the screw so the old oil drips out. Now you need a special ''wrench'' to twist the old oil filter ( at least on the forklift you do ), loosen it and throw it out, then lubricate the top of the new filter with your finger, and tighten it on. Now screw the oil pan shut again, lower car, and pour new oil into engine !

Did the original oil pump fail?

 

For the oil pump you must remove oil pan. Crank pulley. Unfasten motor mount and partial drop engine. Timing cover. Timing chain. Balance shaft pulley. Replace chain and tensioner. And of course oil pump. New oil pickup gasket. Reseal. Lol why do you think the oil pump needs replaced?

 

I also want to know.

Outside of Crock no one has grenaded their engine and hasn't been warranted.

 

Well I just told you. Since I have a spare block in my shop that I'm building I just gave you the short and sweet version lol

 

I meant the reason why he needs to replace it.
