One thing the Forte does really well...

Haul SH*T! The past week i've been moving into a new house and I can say that not only could i fit an unbelievable amount of stuff in the back, but it was very HEAVY stuff. The surprising part is how well the Forte handled the extra weight. It was still very smooth and I felt virtually no loss in power or lag. Even with 5 people in the car it doesnt struggle to pull its own weight which I feel is a unique quality for a small car. Ive had cars with 6cylinders that would really bog down with the extra weight. Not the Forte.

P.S.- Having a trunk full of stuff also fixes the rear end bounce/wiggle when cornering and hitting bumps... it was actually alot more composed.

When I gave up my PT Cruiser I definately wanted another hatch back for all my trips to Home Depot.... I got the little Kia bed liner for the back which traps dirt and that sort of thing... that was good decision because I get sod and plants from time to time...

Just loaded up 2 kayaks on the roof, camping gear for 3 people including 2 tents 3 sleeping bags, cooking stuff, cooler, a bike in the back, all our clothes and a canopy. It all fits (barely)!

I actually put in a dresser and a large desk chair with the hatch closed, I was shocked that it actually fit but it did. So glad I got the hatch over the sedan.

When I did that for the first time too I was surprised. I got a double stroller to fit and some extra cargo. I was really surprised when I couldn't do that in a Honda Accord.

I love the space in the Koup, fold down the rear seats and you've got quite a bit of hauling space, if you could only get it through the smallish trunk opening, lol! But even with four people on board and stuff in just the trunk, I felt no loss of power or smoothness. Am I hijacking a Forte5 post??? Lol, oh well, they're all good cars :)

I feel like more people should have noticed how well the Forte responds to added weight. I continue to be surprised every time i have 5 people in the car or a ton of stuff to move.

Mine does well loaded down but I do notice it. Camping trip with the back full of gear and a canoe on the roof handling really didn't change much but fuel economy does drop and car does feel a bit more sluggish but not too bad. Averaged around 30mpg mostly highway driving at 72mph with the canoe on the roof the rear seats folded down with the back full of camping gear and ac in use.

On another trip before she was well broken in and with a few more hills I got around 23mpg under the same conditions but I did have the cruise set at 75mph which she didn't like going up the hills.

Edited to add I have the 2.0L
