This mod is for the Sedan or Koup.

!NO WIRES NEED TO BE CUT!

Materials needed:
Electrical tape
Knife
10mm socket
Ratchet

Step one, remove headlights

Next remove the parking light

On the bulb there should be two nipples (hehe). Find the one that is closest to the bottom contacts. When you find that nipple, turn it facing up (ceiling).

Next, cut a piece of electrical tape just big enough to cover the RIGHT terminal.

Once you have done this, place the bulb back in the holder, and then put it back in the headlight. Before you reinstall the headlight, hook up the harness and test to make sure that you covered the correct terminal. If you turn on your hazard lights and one doesn't work, you covered the wrong one. Also turn on your headlight to make sure you did it correctly.

I know everyone is going to want a video of the final product so here ya go you vultures!

*Just uploaded video so might take a couple minutes before it playable.*

I did this with my last car and never ran into an issue. Might pose a problem for inspection but easy to undo.

Just out of curiousity, why would one want to do this?
ah glad some1 else was thinking the same as me... why?
Looks cleaner IMO. To each his own.
Not a bad idea however I plan on going with white / amber switchback LEDs.
I was going to that but didn't feel like spending any more money for a while. Just bought a $2500 ring for the future Mrs.

Well that's understandable and congrats!!
Worth noting: Illegal in pretty much every jurisdiction on Earth. I'm not saying don't do it, just know it's illegal.

Kinda like HIDs, but still a great idea
Legal, not at all, have I been pulled over for them, not at all, am I lucky, probably. The only time you have to worry about them causing any issue is during state car inspection. They have to be working for the inspection. Solution, undo the tape before inspection is due and reapply after is done. Been running around for 5yr with this done to all my vehicles and never had a issue.
I know this is an old dead thread, but i've noticed here in egypt that coming from the factory, The corner lights DOENS'T work. It only works for turn signals. the Highbeam runs on low voltage for the "corner" light function.

it's not the highbeam .. it is a seperate small bulb, most of the owners change it to led when fitting HID.

So this is the DRL that other Fortes have that US models don't? Can I just...dremmel out a hole and fit my own DRL? Seems very possible.
Could you post a pic of what this looks like with the lights on. Very interested but just wondering how it looks.

And I'm with DevilsX just wondering if drilling a hole would cause problems. I was thinking moisture would be an issue.
This is actually a great mod for people with projectors (I will have them in a couple of weeks :) ) because I'm going to have the angel eyes as a DRL and I don't want the parking light on as well. So this will fix that. I can still have my signals amber and it's very easily reversable so I think it's a good mod
