:confused:Alright so I went out to lunch for work and I decided to brush off the passenger side mats. So I enter the car via passenger door first and take the the mat out and beat the grass and pebbles off, then I put the key into the ignition on the acc toggle to listen the music for a min then I take the key out of the ignition and exit the car. When I shut the passenger side door I used my key fob and locked the car. Usually when you lock the car the parking lights flash then go off. I noticed after locking the car it flashed but the bulbs were still on....but they were very dim with low current like only one filament was glowing and this was on all parking lights both front and back in the taillights. I then unlocked the car and locked the car again to get them to turn off but they would not! So I went over to the driver side and open and shut the door and hit the lock on the fob again then the dim parking lights finally went off...?????? Wierd.....So It's a good thing I noticed them on because that could have been a potential drain on the battery since I still had 6 hours of work left. Just beware if you enter via passenger side. Also I always keep my lights on Auto, don't know if this has anything to do with it but just incase someone decides to try this out and see if its happening on their fortes.

Parking lights only turn off if you open the driver side door, my forte and the spectra i had before were the same way. I think that kia did this only with the drivers side door bc its suppose to be the main door to get and out of the car, being the drivers door. Its part of the auto off lights.

I have noticed for some reason my Forte parklights stay on occasionally even after exiting via the drivers door and I lock car.

The circumstances maybe different in the US and Canada as the US cars have an alarm system that the Canadian ones don't. This could affect how the lights respond when locking up in different situations. I'm just pointing this out in case some of the observed operations differ across the border.;)

OK I GOT IT IF ANYONE HAS THE LIGHTS ON AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE CAR IS A SIMPLE FIX GO TO AUTOZONE GET A NEW BRAKE SWITCH IS ABOUT 15$ then go under the side of brake pedal and look for the brake pedal and locate the switch you need a 14 mm wrench take the nut unhook the harness from the switches replace the switch and problem solve
