problem with my kia

hi, this is my first time posting...though i've been reading posts for a while

i got my forte koup (brand new) back in mid-october of last year and it seems it's a bad luck car...i've had three not at fault accident's in the car so far (1 in october and 2 in january)...

so my car has spent about a month and a half total in a repair shop as a result...but i recently got it back and noticed an issue

on my passenger side seat, there is a screw (the side near the center console) around the area where the seatbelt goes in (on the bottom of that seat belt piece)...when the passenger seat is moved forward or back the screw has scratched the console up (probably about a two inch scratch and very noticeable)...i know people have mentioned an issue with their driver seat but my driver seat is fine....

i talked with the dealership and they said they could probably fix the issue to where it stops scratching into the console but the console was a cosmetic (not mechanical) issue so they were not responsible for that....but i'm supposed to go back friday to find out for sure

anyone have this happen to their car?

Can't say I have heard of this, but there is a first time for everything!
Maybe when the body shop had your car they messed around with the seat??? Forgot to tighten a screw?
^^^
I was kind of thinking something like that too
i don't think it was a problem caused by someone at the repair shop..the damage has been on the front driver side, down to the driver side door, and in the back driver side..so i don't believe they would need to mess with the passenger seat for anything...

but thanks for the replies
Sometimes the take out the whole interior to fix body work. If it was the rear quarter panel I can actually see them taking out the seat to get back there.

nope...no issues with the rear panel...just the front of the car that's been worked on so far...

2nd accident was minor and to the back of the car but i haven't even been able to fix that yet because the 3rd accident did a lot more damage and they've been getting that fixed...
Maybe you should get a tank? Lol jk

haha...yeah, everyone has been telling me that. 3rd accident was with a toyota fj cruiser...did 3000 of damage to my car and he had a little bit of my paint (less than an inch long) on his door...no scratches or dents on his car...

2nd accident was where a big truck backed up into my car in a parking lot (1000 in damages) and 1st was where a cadillac escalade was trying to go behind me and scraped the back of my car (600 in damages)...

my town does have a lot of bad drivers though...
