pros/cons kia forte?

I am in the process of looking for a new car. I forgot how I came across the Kia Forte but as soon as I did I fell in love lol. I have to wait until April or May to get a car because I have a broken right foot, but I found this forum and decided to ask you all what your pros and cons are?

I saw a Kia Forte today parked in the parking lot next to my moms car. I couldn't resist the urge to look inside lol and it made me like it even more.

Another question though, does the car sit low to the ground or does it just look like it does?

Thank in advance for the replies! I will hopefully be joining the Kia Forte family in a couple months.

Pro: it's a Kia
Con: it's a Kia

Lmao nah it's a great car. You'll have fun with it
it can always sit lower then it does stock.. :)

pros, almost as quick as the honda si :) & does it on cheap fuel
Pro, forte koup looks better then above car and cost less :)
great on gas, If you drive it carefully.. I warn you its hard to do once you start mods

Con, sx can be a bit bumpy for some people.
Traction control system kind of sucks on dry land.. luckly there is a off button :)
There is that crazy crease thing but guys here are starting to figure the cause out ;)
Paint seems very easy to scratch and tends to get rock chips easily,

So the cons are not too bad..
Honestly If I had a choice to buy the car again I would
everytime I look at my koup I smile..
and when I'm driving it I have a lot of fun :)

Almost as quick as the SI? Every time I race an SI I beat em cause there gear ratio sucks nut sack!
^^^^
I agree but I'm just going buy the number on paper..
Its safe to say the si might have been quicker that day due to the driver..

I honestly have not had a si even try around me lol

lol i'm not looking for it to be lower (if thats what you mean) but honestly i don't know what u mean about that lol
Pros are it looks sweet and has a lot of potential performance wise. Cons are aftermarket parts are hard to come by right now as far as depth. Its fairly new so we can look forward to the number to grow as time goes on. With this being the premier forte site and vendors curiously surfing it wont be too long, hopefully, before we see a broader range of parts available to us.

Something's wrong with their car or the driver, because a Civic SI is faster than a Forte/Koup 2.4...

Pros:
-car looks good
-lots of standard features
-great warranty
-acceptable performance

Cons:
-lots of hard plastics inside
-reliability ?
-engine (2.4) doesn't feel like it has the advertised HP/TQ
-fragile paint

Im curious if luv4U saw a koup or sedan?
I hate to be Mr. Downer, but for me the giant CON on my '10 Forte is the 5 spd auto trans which still jerks into third gear for the first shift. As far as I know Kia still hasn't figured out the problem. 10 yr / 100,000 mile warrantee is kind of useless when the company can't fix your car.

** Rant over **

Other than that, I really do like this car. It handles pretty well in SX trim. I average 27 to 28 mpg in my daily driving. I've gotten 37 to 38 when I do strictly hiway driving. The car looks sharp and I'm comfortable when in the car for extended periods. It's a neat little car. Would I buy one again? Only if I tested it more theroughly to assure myself that the transmission worked properly. So far I'm not aware of anyone having transmission problems with the 2011.

I mean in stock form its not really that low :)

199 to 174 isn't that much. Plus you'll take them in the low gears, so yea it's possible.

What reliability issues have you had? Just curious...

I saw a sedan and I'm looking to getting a sedan, the kia forte koup's are nice, but i'm not a fan of 2 door cars.

These problems I keep hearing about with the shifting is that only with the SX one thats the stick shift? I don't know how to drive stick so will I have this issue with the EX one?
I believe that jerky shift appears in the automatics and if I recall correctly, there was an EX owner who was experiencing it as well. So far, no known issues with the 6 speed autos in the 2011 Fortes.
wbw has the 2010 sedan with 5 spd automatic tranny. Unfortunately he has a problem with the tranny where it shifts hard the first time he drives it. Kia hasn't been able to fix his car -- or other's cars with that problem.
hmm that doesn't sound to good for a new car, but I will check it out when I test drive it.
Yes, the problem is with the 5 speed auto trans in the 2010. I have not heard about the problem with the 2011.
ugh that stinks! i hope it won't be on one I want. I think the 2011 will be to expensive. Maybe i'll see how much they cost.
Is it only when you stop and put the car in reverse or park? Because when your driving you don't really need to change it right?
