I am looking for an EASY solution to add more bass to the Koup without taking up a lot of space and costing a lot of money. This seems like the best plug-and-play powered subwoofer I could find and I am able to get it for approx $430. I am also leasing the Koup so take that into account.

I also considered the Infinity Basslink and the JL Audio PowerWedge but this seems to be better.

Here it is on Crutchfield's site with 2 positive reviews at the bottom:
Rockford Fosgate Punch Overload PS300-12 300-watt 12" powered subwoofer at Crutchfield Signature

Here is the only review I could find for it but it is very positive:
PASMAG | PERFORMANCE AUTO AND SOUND - Rockford Punch Overload PS300-12

Basically, I'm looking for any opinions or comments regarding this product.
Here is some powerbass stuff, don't know if you have herd their subs but I personally love their products, here is a link to a great sub, they don't take up a lot of space and sound great in a ported box.PowerBass Xtreme XL-84 Subwoofer | PowerBass USA
Then a amp to do the job (if you get 2 subs), would be this PowerBass Autosound ASA 600.1Dx D Class Amplifier | PowerBass USA
Then if you just want a single sub, I would get this PowerBass Xtreme XAX 500D 1-Channel Mono Block Class D Mini Amplifier | PowerBass USA
The difference between the amps is that the ASA models are the good range, and the XTA amps are their top of the line amps (Xtreme). The reason I mentioned the 2 amps is because if you do decide to just go with 1 sub you would not want a full 600 wats going to it, 500 wats would be better just to make sure you don't blow it.
I don't know how much it will cost you because all dealers are different. Just an idea for ya, I hope I helped somehow. :) If you have anymore questions or help just pm me if you want and ill TRY to answer them lol.

NitroCircus:
I could get the XL-84 8" sub for $80
PowerBass XL-84 (xl84) - 8" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix
and the XAX 500D amp for $295
PowerBass XAX-500D (xax500d) - Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp - Sonic Electronix
That's $375. Then I would just need an enclosure for the sub.

In your opinion this would sound much better than the powered Rockford 12" sub in my original post?
Yes way better IMO, the Rockford is only 300 watts and by the way the pics look that sub don't have a lot of room for excursion which means not a lot of air movement which also means not a lot of noise (Bass). Just be sure to get the box ported, NOT sealed. And when you get that amp, be sure to turn the gain and stuff down a little because the max is 500 wats on the sub, that means it can only take 500 watts rms (constant power) for only a shot period of time before it blows. Oh and don't go out and ask some one for box specs for air space, I will call my guy tomar, well thats today now lol who only deals with Powerbass and get the box specs from him. Then ill tell you the specs, and you can go and have someone make the box, or you can if you know what your doing :)

Actually man a 10 inch if your going single sub, that would be way better than the 8 inch, that 500 watt amp would be perfect for the 10. Id do that, if might me a little bit more but not much I don't think. Here's the link to that 10, take a look at the specs, 500 watts would be in the middle

Another question NitroCircus:
Would this sub (the 2XL 104D) work with the same amp (XAX-500D)? I know it is more expensive but the description says that it is designed specifically for small sealed enclosures. Maybe this would fit my needs better. But, would it require a more expensive amp too?
PowerBass 2XL-104D (2xl104d) - 10" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix

Anyway, let me know when you get a chance. Thanks again!
First: yea this amp will work with that sub too.
Second: When I first started getting into Powerbass I ask that same question to my friend that does the boxes and he showed me a sealed box to Powerbass's specs, and a ported box to his specs. The sub was literally 3 times as loud when he made the box his way. Trust me, we call him " the box god " around here lol.
Oh and yea the 2XL has more throw and power handling, and by what I mean by more throw I mean how far the sub moves back and forth.
Do you listen to Rock, or Rap, Country? If rock/country people usually go with a 10 because the 10 is more tight, which means you will feel the punch when the bass hits, if its rap you listen to I would go with a 12 because its more loose and able to produce the low bass.
I know you don't want loud and for it to not take up a lot of space but I'm just trying to help you get the best bang for the buck, and honestly a single 12 in a ported box don't take up that much of the trunk, here's a pic of someone elses off this site http://www.forteforums.com/forums/a...83-july-forte-month-koup-edition-dsc04167.jpg
he has is setting in the middle of the trunk, if it was set to the side a little bit more and pushed back, their would still be a lot of room.

I listen to mostly rock(alternative/punk/metal) but also electronica(trance/house). I NEVER listen to rap or hip-hop.

So, it sounds like a 10 would be best for me. Its just which 10. Do you think its worth it to spend the extra $70 for the 2XL sub? Would the 2XL require a larger enclosure? I'll trust you on your 'box gods' specs lol.

I'm assuming you feel that PowerBass make some of the best subs and amps in the business? I ask this because I'm not familiar with them.

Also, with a set up like this will I be able to easily remove the amp and box if I need the trunk space? When I turn in the lease is it going to be a hassle to get everything back to 'normal'? Maybe I can have the amp mounted to the box so it doesnt need to be secured to the actual vehicle?

Sorry for all the questions, lol.
yea it will require a little bit more space, but not much I wouldn't think, I will be sure to get box specs for both subs that way you can see the difference, yes powerbass has some good stuff IMO, and yea you can have the amp mounted to that box.

The only thing that you will need to hook it all up is a amp kit somewhere around a 500 watt kit or a little over if they don't have that.

I don't work today, so give me some time and I will show you what you need to do when you get the amp kit, Ill take pics and post them up for ya.

Alright here is a quick tut on how to run all your wires/ hook them up if your going to do this yourself.

Ok first you will need to run your rca's and your remote wire and since your going to use the factory head unit, just pop off the drivers side seal gard thingy ma-bob, and up top close to where you pull the lever to open your hood, you will see 2 yellow wires, find the biggest one of the 2 and put a T-tap on it like this.

Then when you get that done hook up a line-out converter, remember you get what you pay for. Line-Out Converters | Line Output Converters at Sonic Electronix

Now how to hook it up you will have to slice the black tape a little bit til you can see the wires, then you will want to look for a red and blue wire find the biggest of both colors and put a T-tap on each like this.

Now you want to run your power cable from the batt to the trunk for the amp (don't hook up the wire to the batt yet), you will find a place on your firewall (drivers side) with 2 bolts/screws holding a little plate over a hole, take that plate off and there's how your going to get that ran through there. Here's 2 pics.

After you get that ran through the firewall run all your wires down that seal thingy :p and run them to the trunk. The line-out converter can stay under your seat, that's why I have my rca's hanging out by the seat that way I can tuck that box away under there, oh and the reason you can't see my power wire is b/c its ran under the carpet right there. Here is a pic.

That is as far as I have gotten on my system build, I still have to ask my guy how to hook up that converter right.

Oh and also this will happen with any system with a stock radio, right when you shut the car off any time, make sure you open your door, because the car sends feedback through the radio somehow and sends it right to your sub and it will play loud bass til you open your door lol just a heads up so you don't do #1 or #2

You can fix that problem but you have to buy another converter box thing I don't know what its called, member D113 would probably know hes the other audio junkie lol

When you get your amp hooked up and everything then you can hook up the power wire to the battery the the last thing you want to do is put the fuse in.

OK, let me add up what everything will cost and see if I have this right:

PowerBass Xtreme XAX-500D Amp = $295
PowerBass Xtreme 2XL-104D Sub = $200
10" Ported Sub Enclosure and Grill = $100 (approx)
Installation Accessories = $100 (approx)
Installation at Shop = $100 (approx)

Total = $795 (approx)

Does this sound about right?
Sounds close, If I lived closer I would help you install it. Oh and here box specs I told you I would get.

For the 2xl 10" he said the box needs to be (ported)
Port 17 deep
25 square port
2 cube total

Take that to your box guy and he should know what to do. If he argues about the cubes or anything about the box with you just tell him to do it lol

ok, thanks
you wouldn't happen to know the dimensions of the enclosure in inches(height, width, length) so I can get a good idea of how much trunk space it will take up
No I don't know that one, 2 cube isn't that big don't think.
