Does anybody know how to decode info from the VIN code found on the plate affixed to the dash/found in the vehicle registration? I KNOW my Koup was among the first in Canada, as it was sold as a press vehicle, and originally came from Hamilton and was sent by rail to Winnipeg

Check KGIS or the manual included with your car. All fortes are made in korea.

Free VIN Decoder - Vehicle Identification Number Report Won't tell you the build number, but I'm not sure anything will other than contacting KIA directly. The best you may find is the build date.

I decoded my vin already using kgis, I know when and where my koup was made, down to the name of the manufacturing plant. Very useful.

The BAD news is that my Koup is actually a 5 speed AUTOMATIC (NOT!!) not the 6 speed manual which I LOVE and I STILL have no idea what the production number is..can anybody help me???

Wait...what? You didn't know if your koup was automatic or manual AND you didn't know how many gears it has? What..? Troll?
