SFR ECU Reflash coming soon for Theta and Lambda engines!

This was May 4th 2010 announcement on the SFR blog.

This is what everyone’s been waiting for.
After a big success and proven ability to do full reflashes on Beta/Alpha/Delta 1.6/2.0/2.7 engines with years of experience,
Seoulfulracing is finally offering full reflash solutions for Theta/Lambda engines equipped with continental/Dephi ECUs
(Genesis Coupe 2.0T/3.8 V6, Genesis Sedan 3.8 V6, Azera/Sonata 2.4/3.3/3.8, Kia K5/K7, Kia Forte,etc)

It’s already proven in Korea but we just need to do some final testings on customers/vendors cars. Test ECUs have been already sent to idividuals and shops ,and we are waiting on the feedbacks.

Our ECU reflash will:
- change timings
- better throttle response
- TCS fully off
- raise rev limiter (manual tranny only, final gear for auto tranny)
- increase in torque/horse power
- better gas mileage while crusing

while it does not throw engine codes and any error codes will not show on OBD scanners

Detailed dyno numbers and feedbacks will be posted shortly.

Our ECU reflash service will be offered starting the end of May.
Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Interesting....:)

Have to wait and see what JK posts for the results from their tests.

hmmmm this is an idea for what to do til the turbo kit is ready and I can get it=]
You could always wait for the Turbo kit though. As I seen they have options for N/A and Turbo uses for the same vehicles. So depending upon how specific they are, you may be able to get a tune from them for your Turbo.

But personally I would probably go with the tune you can tweak on local.

What do you plan to use though? AEM EMS, E-Manage? I doubt Turbokits will be offering their own product.
they've said they had an engine management module custom built for this application, because they tuned it n/a first, to get ready for tuning it with FI
I think they said ti in the "looki lookie new toy! many new parts to come!" thread but I'm not positive
but yeah they say they have engine management they are gonna release for n/a applications and with the kit. It's probably something plug n play like aem f/ic or somethign of the like

I know this is besides the point, but eventually someone's gunna ask, so here's the answer:
Yes, this WILL void your engine and emission warranty. Period.
And yes, there is a chance that after you pay a lot of money to flash your ECM some well intending Kia tech may wipe it out by reflashing it back to stock because there is a small retune or adjustment program released by Kia for your car.

Good point ! The owners manual for my reflash module advises of this possibility . To protect the custom tune you have to reflash to stock specs before bringing the car in for service . The reflash device and ecu have to remain in sync .

Yllrshark, you're using an SCT tuner right???
so you have like two tune + your stock tune....... but if you load your stock tune and go to the dealer, will they "see" anything??
No waranty issue so far???

I'm using a Hypertech Power Programmer 111 on my Mustang not the Forte . When the stock tune is loaded the dealer tech only sees the stock configuration nothing else . Warranty is expired .
I have two tunes , stock and custom . The custom tune can be loaded with any or all of the available options such as rev limit , top speed , gear or tire changes , timing or fuel curve etc .

Some inexperienced tuner will make you go boom. Id like to see more info on this. And like any "modded" car, get a Wide band and a scangauge.
