That would be for automatic climate control which we got robbed on in the states.

Its just a worthless hole for us. As if your car is a hot nun.

Cheers

Isn't that the speaker for the bluetooth system? There's two, one above your head and one in that spot for noise cancellation.
Not a bad place for a push to start button to be installed.

You mean Mic? I'm not aware of a second mic for......well, any bluetooth I've ever heard of. I thought that's where the temp sensor would go for the ACC, if it were equipped.
^^^
I thought the exact same thing!
I believe this was covered before a few months ago when someone brought up the same question. It is where the push button ignition is for the Asian cars. They just put a cover on it for us non-worthy NA peeps.
I thought the auto climate control was on the very front of the dash?
Thanks

RC
BTW the engine start button is just below that to the left.
its the climate control sensor, if equipped, if not, its a hole to nothing.
Ok, thanks everyone...I'll pop it out and have a look to verify.
The Aussie Fortes have the same thing as the NA cars, i thought it maybe for that damn chime thing. I thought the AC sensor was on top of dash or is that for the auto headlights sensor
I shined a light in mine and its just a hole for me.

that thing on top of the dash measures solar radiation or something similar to that concept according to the kiatechinfo site.....that and the mysterious hole are both tied into the climate control unit......

OK, let me clear this up. after owning many domestic luxury automobiles with "Automatic Climate Control/Air Conditioning" I can tell you exactly what the small round "Vent" by the steering wheel on the dash is. This is where the "Automatic Climate Control" would "Sample Cabin Air Temperature" on the Korean and Canadian market Koups so equipped. It uses this to adjust the fan speed and temperature accordingly, to maintain the setting the driver designates. The sensor on top of the dash is a Solar Load sensor used to tell the "Climate Control" how much sun light is coming into the vehicle. The small round "Vent" is NOT where the "Push Button Start" goes on the Koup from the factory, it has it's own mounting position and uses a completely different piece of dash trim/molding pictured here.....

As for the Microphone for the Bluetooth, there is only one microphone and it is mounted in the headliner above the drivers head.....

I still maintain it is a great place to install a push button start. Like if you wanted to install a Digital Guard Dog system so you have keyless entry and keyless push button start in your car.
wish i had the red dash parts...
