Devils Advocate here...I don't think it will have the effect they write about. I base this on the expensive aftermarket Ignition systems we tested back in the '80s that claimed to provide more power and economy through multiple sparks. The ads touted more efficient flame fronts like this too. Testing them at the dragstrip provided NO gains on stock or modified street engines. No one recorded better fuel economy either. The only positive thing about them was the money it made the manufacturer and the performance shops that sold them.

Volvo used a 3-prong spark plug in the older NA 5 cylinders on the basis of a "triple spark" providing more complete combustion. Only problem? The electrical energy will choose the path of least resistance, so it will end up sparking across only one of the three prongs. People replace those fancy plugs in their Volvos with the cheaper traditional plug that was factory installed in the turbo cars and have experienced no difference between the two styles.

No it says you dont need anything extra

This Hyundai patent will enable actual twin-spark ignition from a single spark plug and achieves this goal with some really clever thinking. After taking a fresh look at the voltage conditions in an ignition coil's high-voltage side during a spark event, the engineers realized that there was an unused spike in the output voltage graph. That's when inspiration struck, and they added a second center electrode to a single spark plug to make use of this extra output spike.

If you look at the patent information you posted in post #5 above it clearly shows 2 separate coil leads - looks like one for the positive spark and one for the secondary negative spark:
