Speeding Ticket

That sucks, at least you didn't get a ticket for your tail lights? (Don't know if it is legal by you or not)

get a good lawyer and get it reduced. It will be slightly less money for total cost, but you won't have it on your record. I got my 80 in a 60 reduced to improper equipment and it was 230 total

Sucks man!! And x2 be happy no tail light ticket or worse. Make you remove it. Lol

last ticket I received was 55 in a 35. Plead not guilty and dropped it to
failure to obey traffic signs. And it was $132 and no points

What's the point of paying quite some $$$$$ for a lawyer to save 100$ ?????
Is your record SO important in US?????

Last speeding ticket I got was 135$ for 21 Km/h over. Since I was knowingly speeding I just shut my mouth and paid!
I think that when you're knowingly speeding sometimes you have to pay the "fun tax".

Heres what you do. Become a prison guard. Get a "proud to be a corrections officer" license plate frame on the back of your license plate so when the police pull you over they see the frame and let you go after checking your prison ID. I've been pulled over about 6 times since I got my Koup with that rear license plate frame....no tickets. I really love my job sometimes

to many points on your dl can make your insurance prices go up and not only end up costing you the ticket price but additional $$$ on your insurance monthly/yearly etc

And too many points, you eventually LOSE your license ;x

Points against license ='s higher insurance costs.....

Always go with a lawyer... It pays off in the long run, you never know, you might get another. Those Koups zoom on the highway!

You're from Tx? Me too! I'm planning to do mine this afternoon! Hehehe excitement! But I think as long as you can see your lights when you hit the brake, the cops here have no reason to ticket you. Sorry about the ticket though! (They're just jealous you have such a sweet ride, and they don't!)

Yeah he did not say anything about the tail lights so I assume that they are fine. Lots of people have tinted tail lights in Texas. When the lights are on you can clearly see the light shining through.

I met a girl last night that had her tail lights painted pretty much 'black' and I followed her from one place to the next and had no problems seeing her lights at all, and hers are much darker than I was planning to go, so I am not as worried as I originally was to get them tinted.

Yeah, its really a thing that you have to see physically to actually judge how it is.

Ps: I'm excited to get mine done today!

I followed behind a truck the other day and I was going to honk my horn after a couple of turns for not signaling but then noticed if you look hard to can see a dim blinking. Some people get carried away with tinting.

Could have been worse, I lost my licence for 3 months.
I got the forte just after I got it back. (last car was too loud)

Are you allowed a radar detector in your area? Might be better to first invest in that before a CAI since you will be romping on it more often with it installed. It's just too cool sounding with it installed. Maybe I'll take my vid cam out for a drive to record the sound on the highway. My CAI install vid has the windows rolled up at the end when I finished installing it and took it for a spin. It is much better sounding with the windows down.

I wouldn't get a lawyer. Just plead no contest and do defensive driving. That's what I did. Ticket was like 320 and it went down to 115
