If I use the steptronic in my automatic Koup SX does it eventually need replacing like a manual cars' clutch?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but yeah, I'm not much of a car guy.

Thanks.

No, using the manual shifting for the automatic does not increase wear any more than just leaving it in "D".

It is in the car for your enjoyment...if it was detrimental to the operation or life of your car Kia wouldn't have made it available...considering you have a 10 year powertrain warranty.

Yeah there's no direct physical linkage, you're just overriding a variable in the car's computer. Using it to rev higher or shift more often obviously increases wear, but not much more than it would if you just nailed the gas or used the D-3-2-L selections in a non-steptronic auto.
