Been lurking here for a while absorbing all the info you guys have been providing. Lots of knowledge here!

I have an annoying problem with my stock head unit, maybe it's just the way it is but I hope not. Is there a way to get the display to stay on song title instead of displaying the channel you are on when using sat radio? If I hit info it will display for a short time but revert back to channel display. I know what channel I'm on, I want the song/artist to be default display! Any ideas?

I had the same issue too! I ended up just finding the weekly play list of BMP techno and downloading the songs I liked onto my iPod Touch lol. I'm solely using the iPod headphone jack unit, whatever you call it. So I can control it though my iPod Touch.

Yes, there is a menu configuration setting for it. It will then flip every few seconds between the artist/song & station/program. I recommend reading your users manual. (I am a software writer, so I am one of those nerds who reads product user guides and warranty before operation.)

No need to read the manual (who does that anyway).

You have two choices when it comes to the display for the Sattelite Radio. Channel or Aritst/Song.

Hit the "Setup" button.
Scroll to Sirius
Click on it.
You'll see two choices.

I'll try to upload pix tomorrow...I've got a Koup SX....so, not sure if the radios in all of our Forte's are the same, but that's what I'm working with.

I saw this thread the other day and wanted to comment, but figured I better check out my info first. Here's a pic of my radio: (with Default Channel Name) I've since switched it to show Artist/Title.

Thanks, I have the Koup sx as well. I think the head units are the same in most of the models.

I'll try it today and see if thats it. Thank you for an answer to my question other than read the manual.

Do you want people to think you're a schmuck, or do you want them to accept you for who you are?

Wow, let it go. I asked a simple question and I got "read the manual". This guy answers my question with some levity and gets slammed?

FYI the answer to my question was NOT in the manual, it was in the "feature guide" which is a seperate booklet.

I did the hangover yesterday. Took a nap from 3:30-8:30 pm, then went back to bed at midnight and slept until 7:30 this morning. I think I'm finally right to clean the house after the weekend and go back to work on Monday. It took a few gallons of water to get here.

For the record, I didn't say RTFM newb. I was trying to be nice (albeit I'm still not very good at it) and pointing a direction to head because I knew I read it when I purchased several months ago.

Better to keep your mouth closed and thought a fool, rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt. :p

I get levity. I was just trying to help a guy out, since when it comes to the manual (in reference to our radio in particular), most of us aren't very quick to whip that little book out. A lot of times the radio isn't covered in detail in the owner's manual due to the fact that not necessarily every car has the same radio. The books are produced in bulk, so it covers the "general" features of all the cars.

Anyway....... glad I was able to help. That's what the Forums are for, aren't they? To help others? To impart the "knowledge" that one person has, to improve the experience of other users? Maybe that's just my perception..
