in the stock intake system theres a pipe thats made out of this weird material, just wondering what the purpose of it is?

can i change that part of the intake with diff piping? and maybe get a little sound? brand new to the game so good advice is appreciated!!

i dont wanna make or install any CAI or SRI until i can afford both intake and exhaust and put on at the same time. socal forte koup owner, any socal fortes out there!? gyeah!

Do you mean the part right after the ram air opening? that's a permeable material designed to let water through. Removing or replacing it probably won't do much.

I saw under the hood of a new ralliart and they run they're intake with solid piping instead of the permeable material (also from a ram air entry at the front of the hood) so it shouldn't do anything negative, could only do nothing or help. and it'll look better.
