I have a 2010 Forte EX with almost 4000 miles on it. I have noticed that as the auto shifts into 4th gear the RPM go to about 1.5 and the car barely creeps along and sometimes I have to go to the slap stick and downshift to 3rd to get the acceleration I need. Anyone have a clue or have a similar issue?

I hate to say it, but it's normal. See gear ratio for 4spd auto trans:

First Gear Ratio - 2.92:1
Second Gear Ratio - 1.55:1
Third Gear Ratio - 1.00:1
Fourth Gear Ratio - 0.71:1

The fourth gear is meant to be used at highway speed ! Thus, the "loss of power" would be more noticeable if you were gradually accelerating and the car shifts up to 4th gear quickly. Downshifting, either manually, or forcing it by pressing down on the gas hard is only way to get decent acceleration on EX with 4sp auto trans if the gear is in 4th already.
