Swap front bumper Sedan > Koup Done!

Hi all!

I bought everything (except the upper front grill: I tought both models were the same) to swap my front end to the Koup version, including the clip from the Koup model.

I have problem with thoses clips. When I tried to put everything together, well...

Do I have to adjust thoses clips?

Is there any difference between the parts of the Forte sedan or Koup with years of production?

Thanks for helping me to get my Forte sexier than ever!

It takes some massaging. Maybe @nitebleu can explain the best process.
It does take some effort to get it aligned because the flare at the wheel well is different between the koup and sedan/hatch. The koup has a slightly more aggressive wheel well. That is the difference you're seeing.

After allowing the paint several days (couple weeks IMO) to fully cure, you can use heat followed by bending (dent puller works) followed by rapid cooling to get the bumper to align with the fender. It's time consuming and tedious, and if you aren't careful you can crack the paint.
My paintjob was done on the first week of march.

A dent puller? OMG: it's even worst! Where do I get my self into? I can't do this only with a heatgun?

And the Koup clip: did you screw the horizontal bolt to the maximum?

Thank you very much for your answers! I really want to put this bumper on my car! Can you put pics of this particular area to see how good you did?
Anyone else? I'm thinking about the Koup front fender: maybe it's a easiest (but not cheap) way to get this done?
Didn't see your reply yesterday. I haven't done it yet myself because I'm debating on getting the Koup fenders also. @mxfisher did his the way I described.

The dent puller itself was a suction cup style that was only used to hold the end of the bumper in the right position while heat/cooling was applied.

According to my computer 10-13 Sedan and hatch are the same fenders, I feel really stupid now I thought the front was all the same except the bumper. The radiator support is the same, I cant look up aprons however I would assume they are the same the fenders should bolt up and solve your issue.
I really don't see the difference in the headlights but my computer says they are different.

Sedan and hatch are the same, but the Koup is different. The inner fender liners are different between Koup and sedan/hatch.

The headlight on the koup had a different bezel than the sedan/hatch, but they bolt up and fit the same. It's just an appearance change.

This is a Koup headlight

A friend on a regional forum (clubkiaquebec) has just remove his Koup bumper. I'm asking im a few questions and photos to see if just the fender is all you (finaly) need to get a A1 fitting.

If they have specials fenders for the Koup and "regulars" fenders for 4 and 5 doors, I wonder if there's anything else different that we must know.

Normally my computer will say a and b fit difference is appearance change in pairs compare for differences.

Lol, hollander is good but isn't always right on the money. There's also a difference between 2011 and 2012 sedan/hatch headlights. 2012 has a sort of diffuser in the lens at the turn signal bowl, but 2011 does not. I found this out when I hit a deer and had a replacement headlight ordered. The aftermarket lights don't have the diffuser.

OE headlight on bottom, aftermarket replacement on top:

nice looks like you modded your original light
Yeah, I put projectors in. Sold them to a buddy recently and now working on a new set.

With parking lights only. When headlights come on they still shine white.

Seriously?? Maybe I can get thoses with the fender at the salvage yard?

Are they that different?
Do you know someone here that did the front swap with fenders on this forum?

Maybe he/she can share with us if after bumper/fender/clip/grill, there's another thing to change?
