Tallight/Headlight Tint Film? Where to get it?

I want to get a quality set of dark taillight film and a lighter headlight film kit. Lamin-X has them but they are like almost $60 a set. Anybody else know of a place to get these kits? Your advice is appreciated....

decalfx.com, headlightarmor.com or just google headlight tint film
anyone else

anymore suggestions?
or you could just buy the spray can... probably cheapest but its on there for ever. 1 coat is smoke, 2 coats are dark and 3 coats you might as well just paint it black! mine are 2 coats as you can see from the pic.

Here's mine with two layers of spray tint and a layer of clear:

Did three layers and no clear on the reflectors because I wanted more of a matte finish next to the rear bumper.
you can order it on line, like $12 or something. little hint, hit it with 2 coats of the tint, let it dry, then hit it with one coat of clear coat, let that dry, wet sand it with 1500 grit, then buff it out!

OOH the wet sanding idea is brilliant lol. I HONESTLY wouldnt have thought of that. Hmm sounds like ill be makin yet another cheap but good looking mod
well i can tell you that if you get the spray, take the tails/heads out. I previously owned an eclipse and bought some spray off ebay (had a purple lid.. dont remember the name) and I didn't remove the tails/side markers.... result was so so and it wears after a while.... you would have to buy more and reapply after sun wear. pain in the ass if you ask me.

i just bought a black koup sx and im looking for a solution to smoking the heads, tails, side markers, and foggers... i want to go film so it looks better and no need for a reapply.
You must have used the cheap stuff cause I've had it on a mustang for 8 years and it's still there. But then again the clear coat will protect it and you shouldn't ever see a fade due to sun light. I left my lenses on the car an taped up half the car, worked great

leaving the lights in will result in a less quality job than if you took them out... anyone can figure that out :p

as far as my sun wear goes... i live in florida, it gets hot as balls here... faded even with the clear coat.
i wouldnt recomend spray on tint it is impossible to get each light to look the same..
I had great luck using Nightshades on my Tails. Mask out the lights with newspaper and spray on. Let me know if you need pics.

2 coats.... spray in a back and forth motion about 18" away. mine look awesome AND i left the tail lights in
I did like 4 coats. Hahaha Just want to make sure it's dark on a black Koup.

should have just used black spray paint in that case lol
To all of you out there who want to smoke your lights! I just did a few searches online and I found a few window tint shops around here that also do head light / tail light smoking with film. Check and see if there are some around you that also do light smoking.. most will because its basically the same procedure and can usually be done quickly. The end result will be professional and the film is a better look than the spray any day. (warranty too)
