This bulletin provides the procedure to upgrade the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) of some 2010 Model Year Forte (TD) Sedan and Koup with 2.0L engines manufactured between 3/5/09~3/17/10. This reflash has enhanced VCM logic to improve a rough idle condition at start-up or a MIL ON and stored DTC P0304 set at start-up. To improve customer satisfaction Kia is requesting the completion of this Service Action on all affected 2010 Forte / Koup w/2.0L Engine vehicles.

For confirmation that the latest reflash has been performed to a vehicle you are working on, verify ROM ID using the tables in this TSB.

For vehicles not on the Affected Vehicles List, but with a customer concern, perform the following procedure outlined in this bulletin and submit a warranty claim per “customer concern” (Standard TSB) claim information on page 6.

I had the previous TSB done that mentioned the popping noise from intake done a several weeks ago and I still have the issue occurring. Pretty embarassing slowing down to turn and when I accelerate it jerks the car and has a loud pop noise then starts accelerating. Had one guy jump while standing at a corner when I was turning and it did that. lol. I'll have to bring it in again to have them do this TSB and hopefully it fixes this concern.

I've been having intermittent rough idle when the car is warm - prior to today all I could feel were vibrations through the car but I saw the tach bouncing around slightly this morning.

Could this be related?
