The best thing you can do is to have the instant mpg display up. It is amazing how just the most tiny lift of throttle can take the instant mpg from 30 to 50mpg.

The secret is cruise control. :D I use it whenever possible. I also try to stay in as high as a gear as possible (MT) when not "having fun". I call it my own personal "eco mode". :)

My average mixed driving MPG (with more than a few jackrabbit take offs) on my 2010 Koup SX is around 9l/100km (26mpg), but on long drives, with the cruise set, even at 125 km/h (~80mph) I can get as low as ~6.7l/100km (35mpg).

I personally find the instant MPG display completely useless.

I've heard from multiple different people that the real "secret" is to keep it under a certain speed and your MPGs will go up considerably. For example, do 105 on the freeway instead of the 120-130 most people do.

Even after I fixed the steer wheel angle sensor "clockspring" the cruise control still don't work. It lights up green & I pretend I'm on cruise control. When my koup SX was working😂🤣😂🤣🤣

Around where we now live i'm averaging about 28mpg around the 'burbs, and well in the 40s on the highway

I'm not sure of the North American-spec GTs but over here they have a Speed Limiter function as well as the radar cruise - the RC I find to be infuriating in anything other than light traffic, so if the freeways are reasonably busy i'll just use the speed limiter and I don't need to focus on either my speed or what my right foot is doing, which helps significantly with fuel economy

Try to manage your shifts before 1500 rpms. If you can get to 6th under 2500 rpms, you'll see a good mpg. I've been driving for 50 years and still pretend I'm running 1/4 mile sprints from some redlights. Just depends on what's beside me raring to go! LOL I'm averaging around 30 mpg around town and out on the interstate or open highway, 37 to 38. If I drive the speed limit, it's closer to 40.

If you want to go extreme.. The best place to find the most accurate info is on a Prius forum... thousands of topics about this.. it’s all they talk about. Or just follow one on the freeway, see how long you last before thinking about suicide.

I'm not getting anywhere near 31 on the tank. I'm getting 22 average. But that's all driving around town, stop and go.
I’m just curious, when you fill your tank what does your Miles to empty range say? Mine is usually around 390
