Turbo kits CAI question

Hey everyone I just put in my turbokits cold air intake and it only took a day to come! I have a couple questions regarding it though! How does everyones car WITH this CAI sound? I mainly hear the deep rumbling of it in high 2nd gear and in 3rd..does anyone hear it all the time no matter how hard you hit the gas? And did your ECU fit well in the supplied bracket becuz mine was a little wobbly so I zip tied it a few times to some surrounding metal to stabilize it a bit...I feel like I installed it correctly but I'm just trying to make sure by info from users...any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I hear my cai everytime I accelerate whether its a hard accel or soft. I hear it lowder of coarse durring a hard accel. My ecu bracket works fine. Did you make sure and get the rubber bushing thing from your original airbox?
Yea I took the bushing from the airbox. I have an extra piece that I couldn't use and that's to mount it to the battery compartment but my pipe didn't seem to be able to becuz it was a bit far away when aligned to the engine. I would like some suggestions to make mine I guess work better. I have been getting better gas mileage so far and love the sound, just don't hear it unless I push it a bit. Btw if your on the fence about a CAI or a company to get it from, get one!! And go with turbo kits!! Great service, insanely fast shipping and of course a great product.

By no means am I an advertiser and/or sponsor to turbo kits. Just a happy customer :)
I only hear mine if i give the pedal a good push. If you drive lightly you probably wouldn't hear it.

I typically drive with a heavy foot so I hear mine most of the time. If I try and drive softly, you don't hear a thing.

Did you take the metal out of the bushing as the instructions say?

And If sounds like it's not going in all the way and you just need to give it a good hard push (that's what she said).

At first mine was wobbly but I just had to put pressure on it so it popped in.

Aidensgrand... If you take off Slowly and softly you still hear yours?

Yea it'd be quieter but there is still a nice low growl. Now when I'm Just cruising I can't hear anything but my muffler.

Gotcha
Ok thanks guys for the info..I guess I did it right...aidensgrand..u also have exhaust right? Cuz that's prob why you hear it all the time
I only hear it when I accelerate medium to hard. I use it as a gas miser now, when I want to save fuel I make sure I don't hear the intake.
Yea MFury that's what I'm doing as well. I saw you installation video but that was a prototype right? I believe my CAI is a bit different then yours. My installation was a bit harder then u showed in your video, still pretty easy just hardER.

I just received the final product yesterday, like yours. I may do another video when I install it.

Mfury, i do the same. If I'm trying save gas i try not to hear it
hhhmm so is that bracket a must to install cause all i did was just install the cai and left that bracket out. I mean am i hurting the ecu by not using that bracket provided by TK?
Uh big red, well how is ur ECU mounted? Mines in the bracket but it was a bit wobbly so I used a few zip ties to secure it a little better and TK said that it is supposed to be a little wobbly so I guess I did it right. Jw how u have ur ECU mounted? Did u leave the factory air box in the engine bay?
My DIY CAI is quiet under normal driving you mainly hear it when you step on the gas peddle a bit or labour the engine a bit. When I first installed it I kept on accelerating hard so I could hear it but now I drive normal and I hardly notice it, I just get this nice little purr when accelerating.
If your worried about the ECU getting hot why not leave it in situ and use a bit of flexible hosing and mount the hose to old air intake like I did.
Hey rpps, can u tell me how u painted the engine cover like that? That looks rly cool and would maybe consider doing something like that if u may share :)

Really easy, just get some calliper paint the brand I used was VHT, it's a heat resistant enamel. I then got some Vaseline and smeared it on with my finger on the areas where I wanted the black to remain, like the lettering. I then sprayed 3 light coats of paint on the cover it doesn't take long to dry. After the paint dried I then used a piece of cloth and wiped off the area where I put the vaseline.
Wow Vaseline huh? Good idea...I might do this but with my car being silver I'm not positive of the color but probably red since I've put a lot of red secondary colors in my car. Thanks rpps
Red should look ok I had it on my black Forte Sedan before this Koup and it looked good
to answer your ? shaks yes i left the factory airbox in. I really had no idea what that bracket was for since as soon as i received the package i went and installed it. But i dont know my ecu gets a little hot sometimes. I hope am not damaging it by not utilizing that bracket.
Well big red, did u get the email from turbo kits for the instructions? Cuz I had an idea how to put it in but they sent me the email almost immediately after I made the purchase and I have the email on my iPhone so I just had my phone near me as I was installing it which had me put the ECU in the supplied bracket. I would recommend maybe taking out the stock airbox and putting in that bracket. It's not hard at all.
