TWM performance short throw shifter prototype installed(Pics)

I was at TWM, tuesday night. They installed their short throw shifter prototype. I'm pretty pleased with the result. They say the throw is reduce by about 30%. The feeling is awesome. Bushings + shifter = a lot more fun to drive.

The final product will be out in a couple of weeks. It looks alot like this version ...

I took some pictures tonight... Sorry for the quality, it's pitch black outside:eek:

I'm not sure I understand your last question... When I go from one gear to another ? No, like oem.

It's feels much more precise compare to the stock shifter. I also have the cables and base bushings installed. The throw feels shorter. I don't have the exact numbers yet, but they say it's about a 30% shorter throw and around 3/4" shorter in height.

What is a short shifter?
A common misconception in the industry is that a short throw shifter is just a chopped off version of the stock shifter, in reality it is a much more complex part. The geometry of a short throw shifter has been altered in such a way as to reduce the distance that the upper section of the shifter needs to move to achieve the same degree of movement in the lower section. They offer a short-throw shifter for 2004-2009 Spectra's and it looks a lot like the Forte shifter. I wonder how different the two actually are (spectra shifter is $117.00).

I assume someone already tried that though, right?

Ah, never mind.. I just saw that the Spectra shifter doesn't have the reverse lock.

Kia has a short shifter you can buy. Around 200 also but then you have to pay for install of course. I was told this from a guy in parts when I was lookin into buying the CF shift knob.

i want!
any idea if they'll release a package of the bushing upgrades short shifter and something like the knob in that pic? looks clean as hell, and seems like it'll help out a lot too
after being used to this car finally the throw is seeming to be a little long, though still nothing compared to my 90 mazda lol
