Under $200 for Eibach Springs

I was looking for some springs for my Forte SX Sedan and really want to get the H&R Springs as they are suppose to lower the front more than the Eibachs to make the vehicle look more proportional. However, I just happen to stumble upon a deal on Eibach springs from Amazon for $190.74 with No Tax & Free Shipping. That's the best deal on springs I've found anywhere. So now I have the delimma of getting these at a great price or trying to find a deal on H&R. Also, these springs say they are only for the Koup but on Eibach's site, it shows the same part number for both the Sedan and Koup. What's with that? Will it fit on the Sedan? Anyone have the H&R springs or can anyone give any advice? Thanks.

Eibach fit on sedan however it seems to lower the rear more than the front!?!?!? So the sedan look like having 300lbs in the trunk!!!
Anyone heard of B&G Suspension before? Apparently they have springs for the Forte as well and their specs are similar to those of Eibach's. Here's their website & the info on the springs. Anyone have these installed on their Forte?

  • Front and Rear Drop: 1.2" | 1"
  • Chassis:
  • MSRP: $289.00
I ended up going with the Eibach Springs as I really liked how everyone else's turned out and didn't want to take a chance on another brand that may or may not work as well.

Initially, I had an issue with some knocking noise when I would turn into driveways or turn on uneven pavement. I took it back to the shop where I had it installed and apparently it just needed to be realigned properly.

Now it's great and the ride is really nice. Like others have mentioned, you do feel every bump when on uneven road but it's all worth it. I think it handles much better than before and it looks great. Here's a before & after pic:

Do you mind my asking how much it costed to get installed?

It cost me $140.
Does that include wheel alignment?
No it doesn't. The alignment is a tad off but it's not enough for me to want to spend another $50-$60 at this time. I'll wait till my 1st tire rotation and if it looks like I need it then I'll do it at that time.
nice color choice (have the same). :D
Thanks. I see you're in SoCal as well. Where abouts in SoCal. I'm in Orange/Riverside County. We might see each other on the road.

Funny thing about the color because my wife & I were all set to get the Dark Cherry EX when we saw the Red Metallic SX. We decided to just "test drive" it so we could compare the EX with the SX. As soon as we got inside & saw the upgraded interior combined with the better performing engine we were hooked. Unfortunately it wasn't in the Dark Cherry we were hoping for but it's still a great color.

Yeah, I got it from Amazon and it fits perfectly and rides very nicely even though it says it's for the Forte Koup. It fits the sedan as well. I checked with Eibach directly before I bought them.

I see you're in the SoCal area. If you need someone to put them on and you're in Orange County or don't mind driving there I can give you the name of the shop where I went and they'll hook you up. Let me know.
Are sportline better? I know that they lower a bit more.

Are the B&G made of the same material?

I don't know if the sportline are any better. I think it's just a personal preference but I don't think the sportline is even available for the Forte.

Not sure what material the B&G are made of but apparently it does the same drop so why go with B&G when the Eibachs are already proven to work for everyone and they are cheaper than the B&Gs?

Interesting because I work in OC & go up to San Gabriel area almost every weekend. I'm sure we'll see each other one of these days.
H&R, B&G??? Any pix?

Not sure if this thread is dead, but as more people drop their Forte, I'd really like to see the result. Obviously the Eibach's are great, but I really like the specs on the H&R, and will likely give them a shot this summer. If someone beats me to it, please post pix!!!

The specs on the B&G seem less aggressive... Almost need to oversize wheel/tire to fill the space with those. I can see that working, it just takes more planning and cash.

Anyone got the drop on when KYB will fit the GR-2 strut for our car? Sounds like stock struts are failing faster with the drop... To be expected, of course. How's the inner tire wear? for those who have dropped...

Cool,
Clayton
