hey forumers not sure how many have gotten this mod done yet or plan on doing it, but i and some other members HAVE gotten the vinyl roofs installed and i just want to warn the ones who have or plan on having the vinyl installed that, i got lazy and reeeeally needed a carwash so i went through a touchless car wash at a local gas station and it ripped off some of the vinyl that was around the antenna!!

its not that noticalbe but hell after a few hundred bucks worth of modding it really freaking sucks, and now i have to go through the hassle of dealing with shells insurance company that is taking FOREVER to respond back to my claim might i add!, and its just reeeallly tedious and i just want to warn you guys that these high pressure washes are dangerous to the vinyl work!

Because I would highly recommand DrTint, how made my roof wrap: greath job, nice price and good people!!

Yea im still debating weather or not i wanna do the vinyl... Im putting a black spoiler on so it would look good... but ill have to wait for more money... and have to decide if i wanna spend money on it.

Thanks for posting that warning for everyone.

Those drive through car washes can be quite aggressive.
The toucheless version do have some serious water pressure.

For those that are considering black roof tops, an alternative would be to take your car to a reputable body shop and have the roof painted.
This will run you approx. $500 or less and it should include removing the side rails and roof mounting antenna. I know it's more expensive than vinyl wrapping, but I was quoted $350 to wrap my roof in gloss black. I decided that painting it was worth the difference.

I'm curious as to what some of you paid to get your roof wrapped.

I wonder now if they quoted me too high.

Around 250$ for the roof!
I paid 500$ tx in for roof and windows tint and the regular price for windows is 200$ + tx.
I'd say your quote is a bit high. What is the vinyl brand??? 3M?? How about waranty??
Mine is 3M and 3 years!
Paint is non-reversable and I was quote from 400$ to 850$

I asked the guy from Shinzo at the 401 Dixie meet how much to do my Koup roof in gloss and he quoted $150 plus $10 if it had a sunroof and $10 if it had an roof antena, which it does of course so $170.

I won't be considering it now as being a lazy old fart I often use car washes.

I have tail light tint film and I am still afraid to take my car to the touchless car was becuase I am afraid it will tear my tint off ;(

I also have my tail lights tinted and they didnt get ripped or teared off during the ridiculously high pressure wash. and as for the prices i got my roof vinyl brake light tints and fog light films done for 270.
