No royal purple?
I knew I had forgot to list one and that was it. I will PM a moderator to edit the poll and add it.
Royal Purple Added

Should I reset the counters?
Anyone here ever get an oil analysis done on royal purple? A guy on the BC Mazda3 forum did one on the oil from his Speed3 and the results weren't inspiring.

I havent tested it with my SX but i did switch it over at first oil change. How ever when i went to school at UTI (universal technical institute ) in Norwood, MA... in my hot rod 1b class where we had blueprinted 350's earlier in another class my group tested it. We made a base run. Let it cool down. Changed the oil to royal purple, then dynoed again. We saw a 7hp increase under the same conditions (temp, humidity, same rpms etc.. )

Yeah I believe it can yield extra power, but I mean oil analysis in the chemical sense. Like at the end of the change interval how much tin, etc has it picked up. Basically how contaminated the oil is.
Several wear metals and sodium were the items I saw elevated on a Royal Purple UOA. Doesn't make me want to run out and buy some. Penzoil Platinum is the golden child of synthetics, short of Redline and Amsoil. UOAs for PP outperform Mobil 1, so that's what goes in all my cars.
Pennzoil Platinum was my motor oil of choice but I will be using their new Ultra line on next oil change. Pennzoil Ultra already meets several of the guidelines for the next API classification of motor oils.
What do you think of this article? I know we use a different weight but ratings should be similar.

AMSOIL vs Castrol, Valvoline,Mobil, Pennzoil,

thatd be really interesting to see, if it comes out pretty clean it'd be more than worth it!

The comparison on the listed motor oils was from a test done 7 years ago. Amsoil motor oil is a very good motor oil but is not available from retail stores that I am familiar with. When I can buy Pennzoil Platinum for $21.00 for 5 quarts or Ultra for $28.00 and they constantly show some of the best oil analysis reports submitted by regular car users driving everything from 4 cylinders to HEMI V8s and not some oil manufacturer's laboratory printed results; I will choose Pennzoil.
I've used Castrol for decades...will use it regardless of a poll on line...LoL.
"Ditto" Castrol, I've used since forever, back in my drag strip and dirt track racing days.....never lost an engine with Castrol doing the lube work.
I used Castrol Syntec for about 8 years in a 3.0l V6 and even after 275K miles the cams looked shiny and the heads clean.
I really wanted to try Castrol Edge but i called Castrolinc myself and unfortunately they dont make an all temp oil for out car yet man. But they did reccommend castrol synthec. Which that was my second option anyways.
Petro Canada Supreme 5-20 synthetic
thats what my dealer uses so I will use it on my first oil change.
there Web site lists all the data on the oils.
Never heard of Petro Canada Supreme motor oil before so I read their spec sheet and it seems to be a very good mineral base synthetic oil with an unusual high flash point.
