What have you done to your Forte/Cerato/K3 today?

This type of thread has been done on a few forums I’ve frequented over the years. It’s generally become one of the more popular threads.

Basically, what have you done for your car lately? No matter how mundane - like washing it - or how spectacular - full coilover swap, tell us! And also, include photos if you can!

Not sure why I did this... a member here did the install awhile back and it always stuck in the back of my mind. I just liked the idea of such an aftermarket appearing part to actually be OEM with a part number to prove it. Sometimes ya just gotta do things just because.. at least it adds some color to my car right?

Everytime I order parts like this one and the struts rings, the dealers I order from cancels the order. Oh well.

Me too! You must dig deep in the dark bowels of eBay. OR Hollywood Kia in Florida. But unfortunately most of the fun stuff is from Hyundai.
Appears correct. Here’s a pic I just took

There’s more shadow in your gap than mine. Noontime AZ sun!
Thank you for taking the time. I'm also glad to see the area without a badge. So thanks for that too!

Mine is def shadowed. It's under the carport.

That kia logo looks nice. Can I get a closer shot of it please? Why not do the same to the front one?

I got the front bumper cover back on. Car is in one piece again! Test drive went well. No surprises.

Appointment next week to get the radar unit programmed and calibrated. Along with the 6K service.

I'd like to ask about the panel gap shown below. I can't remember if it was this big before. Thanks.
I did the front badge as well. I’ll get a picture when I can up close.
Cleaned the windshield wipers, the black stuff that came off was impressive 😄

I resemble this post...:)

Ah. For some reason I read the post wrong. I thought you were doing different things to the front n back badges. I was confused.

I installed the "K3" badge on the trunk lid. Along with a red "2" add-on for the GT badge.

I also placed some silicone coasters. I'll post pics tomorrow.
Well I was a big spender today and decided to fill up with 93 octane. I missed the little boost it gives under full throttle. :)

I’ve been running 93 for months. Car loves it.
I set my dampers to a softer setting after watch MotoIQ videos on damper settings. I'm glad I did.

I installed the powerflex engine and trans upper bushings because all of you are doing it and I felt left out. Yeah you guys are right it does make a big difference, it feels the way it should have from the assembly line in the first place.

I have not put mine back in yet. How much did you take off the metal plate for the transmission insert?

None, once I saw how easy it was to r&I I wanted to try it unmodified first because I couldn’t tell where there could be any interference. I do hear the sound under very specific conditions, maybe 5% or less of the time during my one hour test drive. If I really punch the throttle from a dead stop the metal plate slams into whatever it’s hitting and stays there till I let off. But I don’t abuse the car like that normally. So unless it gets worse I’m leaving it as-is.

Yeah, I DO abuse my car regularly so I had to do the plate mod or it would’ve driven me crazy :p

I put some air in the tires this morning. Car started to feel mushy in corners so I checked the pressures. Put about 2-4 psi in, depending on the tire.

Man I need some suspension stuff

Same here. With the 2.0L, it's so slow you kinda have to drive it like that! Lol

Also need suspension stuff. Driving my '90s Volvo with talkative hydraulic steering has made me realize how dead the EPAS is in these cars. Need to help solve the isolation issue with stiff lowered suspension

Not sure if I must post here, on DIY or performance modification... because it is a mix of all!

I bought my 2016 Koup SX by the end of March.
Presentation here:

It was supposed to be a "temporarly" car, by waiting a GR86 that never arrived, so, because I put a lot of money in the Forte, I deceided to keep it... until I will decide to change again.

What I did since I bought it:

  • Bought "summer" wheels and tires. Falken Azenis RT660 235/45R17 on Fast Wheels FC4. They weight 8lbs less EACH than "flower wheels" with winter tire on them.
  • Replaced all fluid/oil, excepted the one in the AC.
  • Replaced spark plugs
  • Replaced ball joints and top plates (that solves a noise problem in front end)
  • Replaced bearings at each corner.
  • Replaced many brake parts (hoses, calipers, pads, rotors)
  • Upgraded the front brake by following this:
- Installed a GodSpeed Project springs set.
_ Installed a Evilla stut bar
- Installed a Evilla short shifter.

Many of replacements that are not an upgrade have been made a "preventive maintenance".
I did not have any historic about the car and as I will go on track for lapping, I wanted to be sure to have all in very good shape.
Some pictures.

I never knew the koup came with a 6 speed manual.
